okay, i'll be honest - it is actually a can of bourbon & cola but it is essentially the same as coke for all the non-drinkers out there. I bought it 6 months ago and accidentally left it in my bag - brought it to uni on those 40degC days (99degF) and now it has been 6 months and i want to give it to a friend. The due by date on the bottom of the can is in another 4 months in october. I am just wondering if it is still safe to drink - or at least to give to my friend as i don't want him to die because of me feeding him a double dose of poison.

I don't think your friend will die from drinking it but it's not going to taste the greatest in the world - certainly not the way it would taste as if you just bought it if it's been in 99 degree weather. So, I believe it'll be safe to drink (but I'm no doctor) but it'll taste a bit...dull due to the heat exposure.

The main factor is the expiry date if it is expired then never go for that but its not then there is nothing wrong to drink but i usually prefer not to drink these carbonated drinks because they are not good for health

Hey. No i dont think he will die, he may get a little sick though. If it were me, and I wanted to give my friend a can of bourbon and coke I would simply go out and buy him a fresh new one... Just to be on the safe side, buy a new one or give to him as an ornament not to be opened...

well i think if there is an expiry date on its back which more then 6 months left then i think you can can it but if you are asking to can bottle which is already opened and you want to can it again then i think its not a good idea.
