Frustrated, upset, and very worried

My son is graduating from high school tomorrow, and I'm very happy about that. On Sunday afternoon, he drove to a McDonald's near the house to get some lunch, while there some guys (I'll say men because he said they were older about 30) kept asking him questions, then followed him, and pulled him out of the car and beat him up. I am so upset and worried by this situation, I can't even seem to think straight. Though I will be happy because he's graduating tomorrow, I feel sad. His face is all puffy and bruised, he just looks so sad to me. I'm not sure what to do or even what to say. I was so angry when he came home like that, I even drove around looking for these guys. I just needed to tell someone else, because I feel so upset right now.

That's horrible! I wonder if they thought he was someone else - mistaken identity maybe? I hope he has a wonderful graduation anyway. Sounds like you have a lot to be proud of!

He really should report it in case they do it again to someone else. It would probably be helpful to the police. I'm sure that would be hard. . .just a thought.

I did call the police, but they said there wasn't much they could do, because my son didn't know who they were or get a good description of the car they were in. He is doing better, and I'm just happy that something worse didn't happen. Thanks for commenting!

My son said he did not know who they were, and that they we asking him who he belonged to, so I guess they were from a gang, and my son had told them no one, I'm not in a gang, and that's when they pulled him out of the car and started hitting him. I was going to call the police, but didn't because my son said he didn't know who they were, and he didn't want me to call the police. He was afraid. Believe me, I do still want to report it, but I'm not even sure of what they can or will do at this point. Thanks for your comment.

I am sorry that this happened to your son. I would be upset too. I'm glad to know that you ended up reporting this. It's too bad that he didn't have more details to give the police, but in case it happens again and they catch the guys, any information he can share might be useful.
