How to choose friends?

What do you look for while accepting or requesting friends on mylot - their star ratings, their post numbers or their intersts? I really don't understand, I have just been accepting friends, but have not communicated with them. How do you do that?

I look at their profile. I look to see what kind of discussions they have started and if they interest me. I look to see what their interests are and if they match mine. I also look at their english. This may sound snotty, but some mylotters english is sooooo bad that I can't understand what they are saying. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't have the time to decipher poor english. Oh, and this isn't just not engish speaking people. there are some americans on here who can't write either.

I think you have mis understood me. I am not disqualifying all people who's first language is not english. In fact if you check my friends list I have friends from other countries. And I am not talking the occassional typo, misuse of a word or bad punctuation. I'm talking the ones I really can't understand. The ones where you read it twice and still have no idea what they are getting at. I give them credit for trying to improve their english, it's just mylot, although friends are a bonus, is about money. And time is money on this forum. therefore I don't have the time to decipher poor english.

Language though important in communicating with your friends, is a secondary thing, I had not thought about it. Although I like to read posts that are well written but I do not disqualify those for whom English is a foreign language. I admire your frankness and I have taken extra care while replying to your post, normally I let the typos go unchecked.

Maybe you should first look at their interest how they respond and what kind of discussion they alreay started for you to know if you will have a good companion then you go to friends if you want to communicate with them personally or just answer they started discussion.

So far I am only answering their discussions, but I will not answer an adult content discussion even it was started by my friends, my personal feeling, no offense intended.

You are very kind, I also accept all who invite me to be their friend, I think I should also go and check their discussions and make it a point to answer all that interest me.
