I heard many friends who are studying in American complaining about the life there~ They said living in American is so boring and not convenient~ And they felt desperate and can't wait to come back. Does that true??

Being in a new place is always different at first, especially if you do not have friends there. I think what your friends are experiencing is loneliness and homesickness. There's always an adjustment time when you are in a new situation, especially if the change is as drastic as being in a new country. I've lived in many places and have found that it takes six months or more for me to become truly comfortable---it would be more if the person doesn't make a strong effort and allows him/her self to get caught up in missing home rather than enjoying the new environment. Best wishes to your friends!

Tell us more about where your friends are studying. Maybe you just need to come visit them and help to liven things up a bit. I bet they are just homesick and long for things to be they way they are used to.

Well, being an American makes me somewhat prejudiced, but I'd say your friends are homesick, pure and simple. They don't have access to friends and activities they are used to. They just need to explore their surroundings more. It's true that many areas of the US are inconvenient if you don't have a car -- our public transportation outside of the cities is really inadequate. Most colleges have lots of activities aside from classes and, unless they are in a really rural area, nearby cities should hold many interesting things for them. They just need to get out more!

More then likely they are homesick. Also, it depends on what part of the country they are in. They say people up north are rude, and people in the south are slow. American customs are very different from others, and if you are not used to them, then it is hard to adjust to it.
