Viral marketing website or Not?

Desktop Lighting has just released 'viralets', (www.viralets.com)relavent to viral marketing. Although it is free to join, there is an upgrade, of course, that allows one to do more. Even with the upgrade, one still gets to promote one's own site. With the upgrade, there is one feature that I haven't seen before, though, you get access to your 'sign-ups', i.e., list buiding capabilities and other tools. A plus, though is that one could use the site to promote anything -- your own product or an affiliate product. Do you think the $17.95 pricetag of the elite membership will render this product non-viral or do you see this as a powerful marketing tool?

This is going to make viral marketing much easier than before. I just got my viralet and am going to put it to work ASAP. Giving it a little test drive. If it works out like I think it will, then the "Elite" Viralet should be even better.

It has advantages. Even though it is up to the owner to promote, with the elite viralet, you get to contact your recruits - different than others than I've seen. Could be a good marketing tool.

The pricetag seems resonable. Now how are we going to gage if it works or not? One person might feel 1 sign-up a week is great and another won't settle for anything less then 1 an hour. I am checking it out because I feel any sign-up is a good thing as that sign-up can bring in another to your affiliate sites or your own program. That's what viral marketing is all about. Exponential growth. So, thanks hometyme for for sharing this information.
