Just a thought. Personally, i think both are overused with little or no meaning or understand of the concept. I'd probably plump with sorry, i've told more people i've been sorry when i havn't than telling them i love them when i dont.

I'd say sorry, that word seems to have less meaning than love. When I use the word love I mean it more than sorry, but sometimes I do mean sorry, other times it just comes out. I think most people would agree, sorry is less meaningful than love.

I would agree with you on that because they are both overused. I would always say that I am sorry when I don't mean it but I would never say I love someone if I don't mean.

it is sorry, because we say sorry for the smallest things, even when we have not heard a person and want him to repeat his sentence. We say sorry to complete strangers. But the word love is for those that we love and mean it. Although when I was in Yorkshire - I heard people address everyone as love. That is "love, please move ahead" or in shops "love what do you want". But still sorry is most commonly used.
