would you call the cops?

Some kids keep ringing my doorbell and then running away. This has happened two days in a row at about 6:30 PM. I can't catch the kids, they are too fast. I can be standing right next to the door, but I can't get to it fast enough when they ring the doorbell. About a month ago, my husband just happened to be awake at 3 AM, and someone rang the bell. We were starting to think the doorbell was broken. But my husband asked our neighbor, and he said the same thing was happening at his house. We are supposed to have a neighborhood watch, but I've never seen them. Would you call the cops? What would that do, if I can't even catch these kids.

Similar things happen to my friend's apartment near where I live.Firtunately,we all know who the kids are and they also live nearby to us.so I told my friend to threaten the kids that she will report to the parents. But since the kids are around 7-8 yrs old,it is not much of a problem.I would say,ask a police officer to patrol the area.Maybe you and your neighbour could go together and speak to a constable or someone like that and express your fear.3 am is no time to trouble others by just ringing the bell.

I don't know if the cops could do anything since you don't know who is doing it. I would call and ask them what you should do. This is a form of harrassment~ even though it is kids thinking they are being funny. Do you have a video camera? I might try to set up a trap. I wouldn't let it go as it is annoying.

you should try to ignore those kids... I'm sure that they will soon stop... I did that when I was a kid and it was fun, sometimes, especially when I saw the people reaction... Calling the police will not do any good... I think that they couldn't catch those kids neither... in my country the police wouldn't even listen to such a call...:)... I'm sure that they will stop sooner or later:P
