When I talk to people about this they say well yeah if you didn't have them bad the first time. This is not true. I have a nephew, cousin and my daughter that can not for some reason develope the ammunity to chicken pox. They have all had it bad several times. I remember when my daughter was in 6th grade she called me into the bathroom. She said mom I have bug bites that itch really bad and she showed them to me. I gasped as I realized instantly what they were since she had already had them twice. She didn't know what they were and she was old enough that I didn't dress her anymore or bathe her so I never saw them in time. By the time I saw them many were already dried up. So she had exposed her whole school to chicken pox. I had to call the school nurse and confess to this infraction. It is really something a school nurse does not want to hear but she was very nice to me. Sure enough they had an awful outbreak of them. We were told that some people do not develope the titer that is what makes people not get them again. Well to this day my nephew, cousin and my daughter can not be around anyone with chicken pox. I hate to see what will happen when their children get them. So when they say you can only get chicken pox once don't believe it some get it many times.

Your poor daughter. I'm suprised that you didn't notice them because of the fever that usually comes before the break out. Any way that is the way it was with my kids. Some times the virus can live for years and come backin another form. My son had the virus come back on him in a different form than the usual peruals. His came back like cankers sores all over his mouth and throat. He was hospitalized with it.

Chicken pox canker sore and fever blister are all a form of herpies. There is herpies I and II. I don't recall which is the genatial herpies. My grandaughter also gets the canker sores. We try to get her to take folic acide as it is supposed to help with them but she dosen't always remember to take it. And she's 20. When she does get one She Takes L-Lysine and that helps to clear them up fast. It's an over the counter diatary supplement brand Solaray. We got it at the health food store. They are caused by stress.

Yes, that is a myth that a person can only get chicken pox once. I've seen more awareness of that now. People used to say, well if you only got a light case of it when you are young, then you can get them again. It's more than just having a light case of chicken pox as a child. Somehow my parents made it through their whole lives without chicken pox, but I would hate to see them get it. Everyone says it is worse when you are older. Maybe that is a myth too.

Wow, After our own children having chicken pox, naturally as I do, I questioned our family doctor and he assured us that once you've had them, you could'nt get chicken pox twice... But the measles on the hand he said, can occur over and over again... Either our doctor has his wires crossed or something else... I myself use to think they were contagious anytime... and was he told us you cant catch them if they've broken into that scab look, because usually they're dried... The Flippin Chicken Pox make our kids feel miserably itchy and look blotchy... Pine Tarsol is a good product to add to there baths, stops that itch instantly and has a diesel smell to it...

That is serious. I had chicken pox once at the age of 24. All the while before it seems I had escaped it but then it hit me, hard. I was thinking since then that I am now immune to it but I guess that may not be totally accurate. Well, I still need to keep taking precautions in that case.
