Just another story..

I knew a man, who's only goal was to live a quiet and better life. To have a house that suits he's dreams, to have a family for him to love and provide till the end of his life. Back then, he used to dream of those what others dreamed of. A career after graduating in college. But things turned out wrong, this man didn't have the chance to finish college because he was forced to work due to his parent's irresponsibilities. He has to earn not for him, but laso for his siblings. Had a hard time crawling, working, just to make ends meet. He did this and that, did everything he can just to fulfill his goal. But time was running out, the opportunities wasted and no one was there to help him through. If there was just someone out there to lend a hand, maybe this person could've made it big time. But it's too late already, too late because the man passed away without even reaching his simpliest dream. He was just another one of those few, who tried out their best to make their lives worth living.. This story, though can be familiar to some, is one story of life that inspires me to share what I can and give my best to everything I know I could. A lesson that life is not really that easy, not to mention that we have to work hard to almost everything just to put some food on our plates.

Indeed it is a common story but I am sure it speaks for many of us, especially it sounds like the life of my dad. I like what you said "... work hard just to put some food on our plates", but I think we all can get away from that. We can work hard, not just to put some food on our plates, but to allow us to enjoy life in the process as well. We just have to cherish what we have at the moment, every single minute, every single second before we leave with regrets.

I have always admired the generation and above my father was in. Those whom I know or seen belong to the poverty. They work hard yet live frugally, all trying to make a living for the family. They are really great inspiration for us. I agree with you.

My father was also poor, with 11 siblings and him being the eldest. He was already working since his grade school days, with my grandfather as a family driver then and with my grandmother doing laundries from the upper-class societies.

Well i think that the most important thing is that this man did appreciate and wanted the little things that are really the big ones. And that is: quiet happy life, and a family. I really think that this man had the right basis for life. And it really does not matter if he had the job of his dreams and alote of money, his approach to life is the important thing. And that is to enjoy life's presents: love and happiness. Which we are all born with.
