Ramen noodles to the rescue?

Ok, we all stayed alive with Ramen noodles and pizza in college but I have to admit, they are truly one of the most useful little packages of quick food I've ever come across. Below is a recipe I tried the other day. It's awesome. Thought I'd share. AND.. hope you would share any Ramen Noodle recipes you might have! Tex Mex Ramen Salad 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. virgin olive oil 1/2 lb. stewing beef cubes or thin sliced beef 1 bell pepper, cut in strips 1 small onion diced 1 pkg. beef flavored ramen noodles (broken into pieces) DRESSING 4 Tblsp. lime or lemon juice 2 Tblsp. soy sauce Ramen seasoning packet 1 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. olive oil Whip dressing ingredients together, set aside. Coat beef in chili powder and brown in oil in a fry pan. Cook until done. Add pepper strips and onion to beef. Now place all ingredients together in dressing bowl, toss to coat and serve over a bed of lettuce.

here's another good recipe and you can't get any more simple than this...put the noodles to boil, and as they start to boil add the seasoning..stir it real well and let it boil a little more..once it boils steady, drop in a raw egg and mix it up real good...now you got egg drop soup!

When I cook ramen noodles, I add a slice of American Cheese to it as it's cooking. The cheese will melt as it's cooking with the noodles and seasoning. Makes it creamy. My kids won't even eat ramens without cheese in it.

OK- I admit I ate these when I was in college- that is the only time- I didn’t ever fix them like the package stated- I would drain the water – add the seasoning and butter- and eat them like spaghetti- I have not eaten them since- They are full of salt- Plus really not that good- I have never tried them with other items—Your recipe looks ok- but I’m going to pass- I’m afraid my daughter might really get into them- and they aren’t very healthy.

My husband's recipe is: Soup 'n Chips Get the ramen noodle in the styrofoam cup(must be the ones with veggies), and microwave. Crush a bag of flavored potato chips in the bag-can be stale. Pour the soup right into the bag of chips. Mush up. Can add a can of chicken or bacon bits. Open bag at seams-flat out. Use squirt cheese over all. Eat, right off the potato chip bag. Amazingly enough, it's pretty good!

Yes, that's what I thought! But some nights my husband cooks our supper and this is what he brings on. I was very skeptical, but truly surprised at how good it was! It turns out kinda like a casserole.

I love Ramen noodles simply because you can do so many things with them and they're so cheap. I like slicing up any type of meat I have on hand at the time and adding that to the cooked noodles. And, if you want to make a larger dish that will go farther, you can always add cooked vegetables to the noodles as well. You'd pratically have an entire meal without spending a lot of money. A newer thing I've heard about doing with Ramen Noodles is grilling them. It sounds rather interesting and I wouldn't mind trying it myself. You can find a recipe on grilling Ramen at this site : http://caramelizedopinions.blogspot.com/2007/06/introducing-grilled-ramen_05.html#links Also, Ramen can be used to make a salad, or it can be an added ingredient in a salad. If you're looking for some rather interesting recipes, check out this page. http://www.mattfischer.com/ramen/

I love Ramen noodles. I will give it a try if I have time. I eat instant noodles all through college. I don't like the american kind. It's so plain. Not good. There is one that sell in the oriental market that is made from Thailand that I love. I love to eat it without cooking it. I just smash the noodles with my hands. Then open the bag. Take out the chili and salt that is included in the bag and put it in the noodle. Then shake it so the salt got mix with the noodle good. And then take your hand and eat it. mmmmm... yummy. I eat like that all the time, not even boil yet. It serve sort of like a snack. Quick, easy and good.
