I am nervous and aggravated around people who are afraid of computers, cell phones, pagers, satellite radio or tv, etc. These items are meant to help and make life easier. Why do they act like the world will blow up if they make a mistake. I just recently bought a digital camera. I was intimated by it, until my son showed me how easy it was. Point, frame, click. The lighting and everything is automatic. The picture quality is beautiful. Suddenly I am capable of taking professional quality photos with very little effort. People think that the electronics and gadgets of today are MORE complicated to use. The fact is, they are MUCH easier and more convenient. Give technology a chance. Once you start using it, you won't be afraid anymore.

People in general are afraid of change and the unknown. New things often scare them, because they are used to doing things a certain way and they never want that way to change. You're right technology is much easier to use today than in the past. The problem lies in the fact that new technology was often very difficult to use and figure out. That's changing and people's views are changing with it also. New things are still though out of a lot of people's comfort zone. If they won't even try them, it's really their loss. I am all the time trying to explain to my husband that the Automatic Teller will help him do his banking much more conveniently. He is totally against this step forward. He keeps telling me that he commented to the machine about the weather and it was rude and didn't reply.
