Which will you prefer: Your Boy/girlfriend will die or will go to someone else?

it just crossed my mind that what if i would die... should i better break up with my boyfriend or let him be beside me till my last breath... i was thinking that letting him stay with me is quite selfish for it is more unbearable when someone you love dies rather than if he/she falls for someone else. I think it is harder to move on when you lost someone through death cause you cant wish even for just a single glimpse or for a last time to hear his voice.. but would that be really fair for my boyfriend's part?
