Can you or do you eat leftovers straight from the fridge?

Well as we watch it in the Western movies, people just grab food out from their fridge and just eat it as it is, without reheating but straight from the fridge. Do you do this? Or do you reheat your leftovers first before consuming them, most especially when you have refrigerated it. We almost always reheat the food before eating it, either steam it or put it in the microwave or give it a quick boil over the stove. It does depend on what kind of food it is. How about you? Do you reheat your food or just eat them straight from the fridge?

Really? Why only potatoes? Haay, I wish we do not get leftovers as well. But then, my mom wants to prepare more than needed to make sure everyone has enough to eat. She doesn't want less food, she'd rather have more.. haha.

We don't usually keep leftovers, but if we have to we would use the microwave. Keeping things in the fridge doesn't kill bacteria, and after a few hours the amount of bacteria in food can get really scary. I read somewhere that reheating on the stove is okay as long as the heat can get to the middle and kill all the bacteria, but most of the time it is not recommended. The microwave still works best, especially if you wet the food first :)

Oh is that so.. hmm... well then we better take note of that to make sure the food we consume are still safe to eat.

Depends on what it is... I will usually reheat but sometimes eat it cold as long as it is not in between because that is when the bacteria begins to grow. They can't grow in cold or when it is piping hot so I will usually heat it up till boiling then let it cool a bit befor eating.

Yeah we almost reheat our food all time, I guess there are just some people that are more particular with their food and some that do not care as much.

It depends on what it is. Most things I re-heat. But pizza and occasionally spaghetti I'll eat cold. Leftover hambergers too, sometimes. My son will eat any pasta right out of the fridge... spaghetti, fettucine, mac & cheese...

Yes I must agree that there are some food that are better eaten warm and some that would taste as good or even better when eaten cold. Just like leftover spaghetti tastes better after a couple of days as compared to eating it freshly cooked.

I usually eat salads and some vegetables like cooked green beans straight from the fridge. Also if I made some extra potato salad, I will use it a couple of days later. However if the food needs warming up, I will usually put it in a container and heat it in the microwave. If it would taste better fried, I will put it in the frying pan after coating the pan with some olive oil and heat it up that way.

Yeah all the time, as long as its not too old and is still eadible. You must reheat it though as bacteria could have formed whilst in the fridge. It comes in handle when you just want a quick snack or are busy and just like something too fill you up. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as its not stale.

we always reheat leftovers. it helps to kill some growing bacteria(if there is) if it's kept long in the fridge. it would be uncomfortable to eat cold food. i wonder why some people do that. we always reheat through our microwave oven but when it comes to steaks we reheat through the stove.

Nope. I prefer to warm or to cook something new. Its not really good to eat leftovers from the fridge. Actually, you can warm it first then eat it. ;)

Yes that is what we do, I was just wondering if people do actually get stuff from the fridge and just eat it cold without reheating as we see on tv.

Oh, I have this bad habit. Whenever I take food out from the fridge, I will straight away eat it. It is not because I am lazy to reheat the food, but it is just like NORMAL thing for me. My mom and sister always scold me for my bad habit but it is to no avail. I am still doing it till now. But if the food is for my husband, I always make sure I will reheat it first. He doesn't like cold food and I don't feel good to give him straight away like that :) As for me, my stomach has no problem so far to digest that cold food which I take out right away from the fridge :)

Hahah... Well I guess your tummy has been immune to it since you're doing it so often... Yeah I think it needs some getting used to, haha, but yeah it's not always the same like for your husband who doesn't like to eat cold food.

If it's viand, i always reheat them thru microwave. These kinds of foods easily get spoiled so it;s better to reheat them to be safe but I dont reheat and eat them if it's has been there in the ref for a long time, lol. For sure, I might get sick if I eat them. If it's ice cream or fruits like apple, of course i eat them right away after i get them from ref.
