When you are making cut out type cookies, do you prefer to use metal or plastic cookie cutters? I don't have a preference, both are great to work with as long as they are sturdy. I used to buy only Wilton but lately I have been getting into Fox Run and some local ones that they sell at a small Amish store.

I usually have better luck with the metal ones. I have a big sticking problem with the plastic ones. The only thing is, I have mostly plastic ones. I get so frustrated with them. Do you have any tips to make the plastic ones work better for me?

Get a bowl and fill it with flour, tap the cutter into the flour then onto a piece of parchment paper or the counter. You will have to do this each time you go to press out a cookie but it should fix the sticking problem. Also, the colder your dough is, the less chance there is of it sticking.
