Blogs that are automatically downloading things - Yuck

I've visited all the blogs on my friends list and have started trying to visit other blogs of mylotters. I feel like maybe I'm helping someone by visiting their blog and maybe some more people will visit mine. When I see an interesting ad, I click on it. I've found some very nice blogs that I've really enjoyed. Well, twice now, I've clicked on a blog and it has started downloading something on my computer(none of these have been from my friends list). My question is are these people doing this intentionally or is it just something that happens sometimes? Because, I really don't want something downloaded unless I download it. It is time consuming to get the download stopped and I have had to reboot my computer and run virus scan. Is anybody else having this happen? Am I just being too sensitive about this or should I stop visiting blogs or what?

No, you are not being sensitive I would hate that, having just spent 3 days of hell with spyware that attacked my hard drive, not to mention the 2-1/2 hours I spent with Dell Computer trying to rid my computer of this malicious spyware, I would be pissed if something started downloading on my computer, how dare they and I would say so to them, how dare them...

It was awful, because I thought I'd be helping somebody by looking at there blog and then to have that happen.

That happened to me once and I thought it was my computer acting up...which is not unusual. Thanks for the heads up. I wish that I had made a note of the blog that I visited. You can visit the friends who you trust and I guess make sure that you have a really good virus software installed on your computer.

yes it can be quite annoying a pop up comes up and then the message on the screen asks you if you want to download and then you cant get rid of the screen as the same message keeps coming up. have you got your pop up blocker on i have pop ups blocked all the time but sometimes a pop up gets through as its not like a real pop up so i dont get those messages coming up now so many websites have them and sometimes the web master doesnt know its just easier to use all the anti virus and spyware and pop ups
