feelings about this person? did they seem to be out of touch with reality, or did you feel sorry for the, or did you just ignore it, or what?

Unfortunatly I do and I know he was raised better since he's my brother. The man is a complete slob and never does anything around the house to clean it. Even his room is pretty nasty, not with clutter but with actual dirt. He never does the dishes or any of that. He leaves it to us to do, yes he's livign with us and although we wish he wasn't right now due to family issues he stays (long story not going to go into). He will do his own laundry, once a month, and by then the clothes and sheets are ready to walk on their own. He won't empty the trash unless we ask him to and even then half the time he will "forget". Things like that. It's very aggravating.

WOW! Sounds like the guy is pretty depressed or something.

No just lazy and expects everyone else to do it. Yes I want to slap him upside the head but I doubt it would do any good.

I'll be honest, my husband is the same way,so bad in fact I finally had to make a decision, do I love him,or leave him? (LOL) well, I love him. He refuses to clean, he says it is a waste of time, and wants the traditional role of wifie in the house, yadda yadda, which is kind of a bore, but I enjoy it. It gives me time to work on my book, and of course, clean up after HIM because he'd rather work two jobs or one job and a lot of overtime over picking up his yucky socks from the floor, or putting a plate in the sink. He admits, he'd be lost without me. I am just looking forward to selling a few books, and then hiring a maid (ha ha!) one besides me right now...

Yup i have known someone like that. They live that way. i guess its how they were raised. I try to ignore that part because they are so sweet. She is a great person so if she wants to live like that let her. :)

I don't think people who are slobs necessarily want to live that way, at least none that I have known. Moreso, they are overwhelmed by the choices they have made that make them live that way.
