Today is Mid Summer Day

The only problem with this is it means tomorrow we start on the way to Winter. Yuck. Makes me shiver just to think about it. Mind you it hardly feels like we have had any Summer at all yet so I hope the second half if better.
Do you take much notice of the date or just take each day as it comes? At the moment I know which day of the week it is but the date hardly matters to things I have to do.
Did you realise that we had 05/06/07 earlier this month. Or I suppose last month if you are American. Did you notice on 02/02/02? These are quite meaningless but also pretty if you like numbers.

It was very pretty but phew, I was worried about Eeyore there for a while. He must have had a good rest he is full of bounce - like Tigger.

Summertime is over here in my country, merlin. Still, the weather stays hot and humid. We are a country that's near the equator.
I honestly never noticed any of the date you mentioned. I am forever on the go and living a hectic life. Maybe, when I turn old and cranky, I might start checking on those unique dates, LOL.

Yes, it is Summer here - so it is raining. Wimbledon is due to start next week so Arctic gales are due. Thank you all for your comments.

Usually I take each day as it comes. But dates like 07/07/07 will catch my attention at times. I was just thinking myself about the fact that now the days will be getting shorter and shorter. I love the long evenings, and I hate the fact that soon it will be getting dark way early, and then I will be getting sleepy way early because of it. LOL

It is early this year. You're lucky you don't know my husband. Once the summer solstice happens, he starts to say the days are getting shorter. He did that so many times that I thought it would snow the next day. I always tell him he should live on Mercury where the days between shortness and length are not that long.

I always feel like that in June, that we are as close to next christmas as we are to the last. However I agree up to now summer has been a bit of a washout, I'm talkinig major floods here. It is meant to be the hottest year on record this year so I imagine we have some hot weather to come. I know what you mean about numbers and dates, my son and his girlfriend went to see the new Omen last year when it was released on 06.06.06. Also if you are into numbers you want to check out the number 23.

I've been anxiously awaiting today because it is the longest day of the year. We moved recently, and are living MUCH further north than I have ever been in my life, so we will have a LOT of sunlight today. I think I'm going to stay up until the sun sets, which will probably be around 10 p.m. or later.
I've been told to enjoy it while it lasts, because the flip side of this is that it will get dark very early in the winter! :(
