Has anyone seen the reports of a guy named Gabriel getting a digital copy of HP and the Deathly Hallows and posting spoilers online about the ending? I will not give the information away here in the event that you don't want to see it, but I have read it, and I'm interested in whether anyone thinks this might be credible. Please tell me what you think!

I heard about this too. I'm not sure really. Like TeresaK said, there is so much security surrounding it, and hardly anyone has read it and I'm sure those that have are bound by a ton of legal contracts and whatnot by JK Rowling. However, the only thing that I think is strange is that I read in one source that the the book's publishing company refused to comment on it, and you'd think that if it wasn't real, they'd automatically say so. I don't know, either way, I'm doubtful.

I suppose if they denied it they would be somewhat revealing the real ending, or at least narrowing the possibilities by saying what it wouldn't be?

No I havent is it true or a rumour, though I havent seen anything on the news about it....I just searched for it on the internet and found it. Wouldnt they have alot of security as it is the last book and will probably sell the most. I personally think its just a rumour as the publishers etc would be more careful.

It actually even crossed my mind that it might have been planted for a potential hacker to find. I have my bookstore voucher in my wallet and plan to get the book at midnight on the 21st. I will be disappointed if this ends up being true.

I've heard about it, but I haven't actually seen any information about what the book's ending is supposed to be like. I haven't heard a lot of information about the hacker either, only bits and pieces. Do you happen to have any links that I can refer too?

I don't think this is true. I read a news article online that the whole book would be printed in the dark. Lights out! So that way no one will be able to raad it while it is being printed. They also said that security is very tight. Cars and people are being searched arriving and leaving work. So I can't see how someone could have gotten the information. I will try to find the article and post the link to it.

Here are a couple of links to the news articles about the book being made in total darkness. http://www.manchester.com/National_News/Harry_Potter_book_made_in_%22total_darkness%22-18161699.html http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/260949/employees_see_nothing_as_harry_potter.html

I don't believe it. I don't think the Publisher would be that careless as to allow one of their mos prized Book be vulnerable to hackers. We are talking about a Multi million franchise here so yeah I don't believe it. And I have a read a blog about and all I can is this, JK Rowling can do better than that, even some very fanfic writers can do better than that.

I have heard about this and I don't have any intention whatsoever to read his message. I mean, it'll just spoil the fun! I have waited for book 7 for the longest time and I guess I'll just wait for the book to be released and after reading it, we'll see if Gabriel really is a hacker.

Hmm I doubt this very much. Like everyone else said it ould take some kind of expert to get those files! And if anyone happened to get them I do not think he would be so stupid as to publish them online and risk being sued by J.K. Rowling and the publishers! Even if I could have the chance to read it I would not. First of all, it would ruin the entire book. Second, if you read the end without reading the rest, you probably would not understand anything! I also do not think that J.K. Rowling would go through the trouble of writing a 'fake ending' and planting it for some dumb hacker with no social life to find. She has enough going on already as she prepares for the release of the final book in the series that made her rich and famous as well as entertained millions of people with a captivating storyline, lovable/hateable characters, and anything else you could want in a fiction book! Woops I started to go of on a rant there hehe Rated +.

Yes, the HP Hacker Gabriel posted a letter in Insecure.org. I think he's against the book. They are just discrimating HP in answer to the pope's request? but i think the church has already encourage the public to watch and they believe people are more open minded. Gabriel's statement maybe a spoiler or hoax but he just told who die. I will still wait for the Book anyway. I don't believe until i'll see with my own eyes.
