I dont have any credit cards as my mum always told me about how they can be very tempting and not always seem like real money. But maybe later in life I would get one for emergencies or something. Though it wouldnt be a store credit card as they apparently have the highest interest rates, so if you do get one do some research to get the best deal. Good luck.

Credit cards are good if you know how to use them properly. They are good to start getting good credit. If you have none. They are also goo dto use to rent a car or hotel. Some places will not rent a car or hotel to you unless you have a credit card. That way if you cause damage or take something, they can charge your credit card.

The bank likes when one has a credit card because if you are looking to get money from a bank it will help you in the future . Credit can be hard to get and if you are looking to buy something expensive then you need something like credit to back you up . It is also good for use in times of emergencies so you don't have to borrow from family and friends but is an easy habit to get into . If you are not looking to get credit anytime soon then I would suggest not worrying about getting a credit card because even the best of people get hooked up in the whole scene of using a card rather then money they have and in the long run you end up wasting money doing this on interest charges .

hmm,,..i only use credit card because i don't like to carry so much cash with me. i think using credit card is the same as using cash as at the end of the day you would have to take out your cash to pay your credit card bill anyway. just like using cash, when using credit card, just gotta make sure that you don't overspend, and spend within your budget and make your payment on time too. if you know how to control your spending wisely then having a credit card wouldn't be an issue even though you have enough money in your bank. the money in your bank is to pay off your credit card bills! haha... .

I dont like to use credit cards much. I had a credit card fraude problem already. To many people can just see the confirmation number on the back of your card, and annoying waiters can easily swap the real card for a fake one. I say Credit card are for americans that want to pretend that they have infinate amounts of cash. But you have to pay it all back sometime dont ya?

The people that approached you about getting a credit card may have been seeing a referral commission. Credit cards may have, at one time, been convenient, but there are are plenty of horror stories, such as due dates changing without notice. (Search the Internet). Not so long there were Congressional hearings about, in my opinion, 'blank check' contracts where the credit card companies could change the contract at thier discretion. You get notified. If you do not agree, you stop using the card. Continued use of the card indicates your agreement. Convenient for whom? Then there's the Universal Default. Be late for any (other) bill and the company can adjust your interest rate. You don't agree? Stop using the card. If you have a balance, you still get to make payments. Convenient for whom?

well, it really depends on the individual that use it... it can be useful but at the same time it can create a disaster as well... many people are hook with credit card debts nowadays because they are just using it without thinking of how to pay the bill... they get so addicted to it... for me, it is useful because i can use it wisely and only use it when necessary... i never buy something that i can't afford and i always pay the bill in full on time every month... so it is useful because i get extra 55 days to earn money to pay for the bill and on top of that i get reward points that i can exchange with something...

A lot of credit cards give "perks", like spending so much and you'll get cash back or free items like dinner at restaurants... If you use your credit cards to pay for necessities, then pay them right away you can take advantage of this and also build your credit rating at the same time. The rule is not to spend more than you can pay off each month to avoid finance charges --in theory, lol

I use credit card because it is convenient and don't need to bring a lot of cash with me. However, one must exercise CONTROL when using credit card. The card may look simple enough and easy to carry around but it screamed temptation too. I normally use my credit card to purchase bulk items like appliances or grocery stuff only. I still prefer cash for smaller items. I don't like to have another headache when my billing statement appeared by the end of the month.

Probably there is a reason why you prefer debit cards. Whether using a credit card is good or not depends on the individual. I prefer credit cards because I do not have to pay for my purchases until a month later. To me, it is a credit term. Rich people become rich because they have cash to roll and using a credit card is one means to roll cash. HOwever, one too needs to be prudent in managing credit as one can easily overspend and end up in debts.

When someone completely pays off their credit card every month and there is no fee involved then it is for convenience. My in laws do this. They don't like to carry cash and they don't like to use debit cards (I am not real sure why. They like the reward points.

It is good to use credit card only depending on your limit.. If you use it more and spend too much, it can disturb your budget during paying time

hi there cool! I think credit cards are handy. That's the advantage I can think of right now. Other than that, it is very tempting to buy things that you are not necessary of. I say if you can get approved why not? example..if you have a paypal account you can have your account verified there. If you purchase things online, you can use credit card too.

it would be good if you want to establish a credit base for a loan later, for a bigger ticket item like say a car..but that's the only reason i can think of doing it. i try to stay away from credit. you're better off paying in cash if you have it due to interest.

Credit card is useful and sometimes helpful too, but having a credit card is a huge responsibilities, its just alright to have a credit card as long as you can control yourself using it in no important things, sometimes its helpful too specially those times that you forget to bring your cash or your cash is not enough to pay the bills you owe during shopping or whatsoever, but again try to control using it. I have credit cards and thinking of the payment monthly is driving me crazy, its easy to swipe but its hard to pay.
