Dying roses

I know when my husband buys me flowers I always run the stems under cool water as I cut about an inch off the bottem and allow the fresh cut to soak up some water, also I add a aspiran and a drop of bleach. Do not set them in like a hot window or anywhere bright, also if you have a delay in giving them to her try to keep tham as col as possible in the refrig if possible. hope this helps some.
