for online movies to watch. Is it Illegal to watch movies online just as long as you do not copy them? Is it legal to pay to download movies?

The law on this on this over is quite loose.
Although it is Illegal for host company's to allow someone to upload something which "they" don't hold the actual copyright for.
Having said that your doing no harm watching it and if you have the same "law" you're not doing anything wrong. Kudos, ~Joey

If it is free and you don't have to pay single cent, i think it is a grey area. They would normally have their licenses on the website.
Downloading movies and paying for them is normally legal. Having said that, you have to see where the websites got their movies from. - Lyn
