What's that green stuff in my drink?

The other day I heard that Howard Stern's radio side-kick had dropped 25 pounds on a pure liquid veggie drink diet. She seemed so proud of her weight loss success as she gulped down some disgusting green puree vegetable drink. And, as I pondered the green goo diet, I wondered, why would someone do that to themselves? Fad diets are just a temporary fix, right?
Trust me, I'm the queen of fad diets. I've done the salad diet and the soup diet. And, the bread diet. Somewhere along the line, I should have changed my middle name to "yo-yo", because ultimately the weight would always come back.
Do you think Robin's weight loss will be permanant once she goes back to eating regular foods?
Do you think a person can use a fad diet to jumpstart lasting weight loss success?
