What do think of others smoking in the office?

I would not like for smokers to be able to smoke in the office. I hate the smell. It really anoys me. My mom once told me of a boss she use to have back in the day. He would come to her desk and smoke over her while asking a question or discuss their workload. One day she showed up and told the boss, If you don't stop smoking around me, I'm going to quit. He had no idea and never smoked around her. Needless to say, I would do the same. Just walk out the front door.

Yes. Yoy are right. People are not considerate. They never think about others. There must be strict rule from your office preventing them from smoking. You can just request them more often.

Smoking is pretty much banned around here in public places. There are even special smoking buildings going up outside of hospitals and resturants and every where else. I used to smoke but havent for 6 years and when someone lights up next to me it makes me sick to my tummy. and the smoke seems to go strait to my lungs. But i cope with it because from time to time my hubby smokes. But in an enclosed office space with 2 men smoking would be very irratating. Good luck with getting them to smoke outside.

I have an idea. Instead of telling them that smoking is bad for them, why don't you tell them that second hand smoke is also bad for everyone else in the office. Maybe an appeal to their conscience to be more considerate of non-smokers will make them stop. Tell them that you are irritated by the smoke and that you are all worried that you will also get sick. By the way, what does youe boss have to say about this?
