First off why did you report them? College students are certainly old enough to make their own decisions about life, and one of those is whether or not they want to show up to class. By not being in your class, they are not causing you any frustration, but are actuallly doing you a favor. You have less work to mark when they do not show up to the class, which gives you more free time. They are also the ones paying for the class, so if they want to waste their money on it then let them. I do not understand the course of actions you have taken at all. Please explain them to me...Thanks!

it was apolicy of the school i was once connected. although i know that its already irrelevant to report college students it was in their policy. it was also the reason why i didnt stay long in the school, they are treating this college brats like kids and they are spoon feeding them. the main reason why they never learn.

If you didnt stay long in school how did you get your teaching degree? This seems a little fishy....

I have been teaching community college for a year and half. I don't really pay attention to college students who don't come to class. They are grown-up and supposedly responsible. If they don't come to class then they probably won't pass, but that is there problem not mine. My college has a policy to drop students if they don't attend class that way I don't have to give them an F at the end of the semester.

i am also teaching in a university here in baguio city and like you, have encountered all sorts of students. i am into my 8th schoolyear now and when i was just starting, most students really were afraid of me. some of them don't just cut class, they dropped my subject. they claimed that i'm so strict. well, some students think so too until now. but being in the academe for quite some time have somehow changed my personality and how students perceive me and at the same time more and more students see the real me and i now see how well most of them like me through my evaluations (given to us few weeks after the semester is over).

I taught few students in a small group and few students got influenced by me so much that they said I was the best teacher in their life and will tell anyone they come across their life for me being an inspiration.
