I got a call from my mother this evening. She said that she received the photographs I had sent along with our son's thank you card for his graduation gift. She said she couldn't believe it! she called my father over and said Would you look at that?!?! He too was astonished. I told her I know what she is talking about.... There was a picture of me in the pile. She said that was right! that she and Dad said we never get a picture of HER! It was funny because after the graduation ceremony I handed the camera to my husband and said here - we are going to do the unthinkable.... what's that, says he..... We are going to take a picture of Mom (with son)... he kind of shook his head in disbelief as to clear his ears out or something! I am more photo phobic than photogenic!

I try very hard not to take pictures unless I am on the other side of the camera. But as of late, I have kind of changed my way of thinking a bit. I take more pictures with my family now. I just don't care anymore what others think about how I look or anything. I just care that the picture means something to someone.

I know what you're saying about not liking to be in pictures. You're right though, having a son graduating is definitely a memory you want photographed being a part of. After all these years, waiting for this day of graduation and believing how wonderful it'll be having my son off to college. Now, I'm finding out I'm actually going to miss having him wanting to talk to me and actually wanting to be around. Congratulations on your Graduate too!!!

you are so right, I actually got my first taste of that this past year, but I knew he would be coming back home. After having home educated first through 10th he went to boarding school this past year (they bypassed 11th) so I talked with him once a week and drove the 12 hours to get him about every other month for a week at home. I really missed him a lot.

I am not in many photos either. I am usually the one that is taking the photos. Wonder why it is usually the woman who takes the photos only to find that nobody takes photos of her. I had to have my husband take a photo of me for my gather writing as I had none. LOL

I always "take" the pictures. I think my family would faint if they ever received a photo with me included in it. I usually just send pics of the kids or kids w/hubby. Nothing with me. I am proud of you, taking that Mom & son picture. It will be a day you will never forget.

Good for you!!! I should do that more often. I sometimes am sad as I scrapbook because I'm hardly in any pictures and my hubby is in most of them. Usually I just forget or it seems we run out of time!
