As most of my friend know, we have been off on one last cattle drive that includes my father. Mostly we are just grazing the cattle but we do get a wee taste of the wild west. The way a cowboy's life used to be I guess. We have a great camp set up, walltents all in a circle with a big fire in the middle. Inevitebly one evening after we had all turned in a bear decided to visit our campsite. Now my dad is usually a very upbeat person, unless you wake him up the wrong way, which the bear did. I could hear a commotion going on outside on the other side of camp. So had my husband (who likes to sleep "bare"). My father and my husband had each grabbed a rifle and a lantern to shoo the bear off. Well when I stuck my head out of the walltent all I could see was my husband and my dad facing off against eachother in the glare of the lanterns across the firepit. One in his tighty whities the other in only what the good Lord gave him. I think I will be forced to seek psychiatic help after this. The sight of it was just "unbearable". The bear could not take it either.

*Wipes coffee off of laptop.* That was absolutely the funniest thing I have read in quite some time. My family did a lot of camping before arthritis took its toll on hubbys hips and my back. REading your story, I could just feel the situation. That poor bear. I envision the bear curled up in fetal position somewhere in the dark depths of a cave...quivering violently. I wonder what the bear would say to cubs or other family members that might be considering a venture to the campsite? Ha! Thanks for the story, it was 'beary' entertaining !

It was one of those priceless moments. I wish I would have grabbed the video cam. I think Funniest Home Videos would have considered it for one of their shows.

LOL That was just so funny. LOL I could picture it as I was reading your words. I bet the shock of the view took away and fear of the bear. LOL Thankfully you were not in the middle of the city. LOL The bear was in shock too huh? That is just way too funny. Thanks for starting my day off right

They just looked so comical. I should have mentioned that they both had managed to get thier boots on as well. It was a scene right out of the movies.

Well, it sounds like you are having a wild life down there. That is just great for you. Someday I would love to have that kind of life somehow.

LMAO I bet that scared you for life and you might want to consider taking the bear with you when see psychiatric help lol. It's good to see you back for awhile and I am glad you are having an adventure like this, it sure sounds like a lot of fun. Even with naked men and bears running around lol.

Great story...lol. The title of your discussion was very apt. I would've liked to have seen it however. I wonder if the bear has recovered yet???
