Okay guys I know not everyone likes these posts but I just wanted to let you know that I am not ignoring you all - I am off on holiday tomorrow! A week of rest in a different place! lol Actually we go to Aviemore every year and we all love it! We stay in a chalet on a resort and overlook the first green on a nine hole golf course! There is also a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym, games hall, snooker room, games hall, kids playroom and much more! That is just on the resort - there is so much to do in Aviemore itself, I have included a link for anyone who may want to see more about this beautiful area and a photo of our chalet! If they have installed wifi now you may still see me floating about mylot but otherwise I will see you all in a week! Have you ever been to Aviemore? xxx

Can I come too? You know I went on my Scotland travels twice, first in 1996 and again in 2006, on my first trip I went to Aviemore, I didn't have the car and went by train from Inverness. It reminded me of Austria, with the chalets, skiing and the village, it would look beautiful covered in snow. I only spent a night there and I stayed in a little b&b run by this old woman who spoilt me, she was lovely. The air is sooooooo fresh and clean and so many facilities for outdoor pursuits like water sports, fishing, hiking, mountain biking the steam train at Boat of Garten, wow I really envy you, any space in your bags for little me?

It´s good to hear that you are going to have a change of scenery. You certainly deserve it. I can´t see the link or the photo, but this might be a browser problem (I´ve had a lot of them lately). Anyway, your description is very precise and got my imagination going.
I´ve never been to Aviemore, but it really sounds like a lovely place.
Have a great week and relax, dear friend. I hope you´re not going to get any Internet withdrawal symptoms if there´s no Wifi installed, lol.
Take care
Hugs
XXX Dana

Well dana dearest - I am glad that you found the photo and the link - don't know why the link ended up in the tag but hey at least it is there! It is 1:30am here and I still haven't finished my packing - my bestest friend insisted I go round to hers for a goodbye drink - or 3! I will be fine with or without the internet (I hope) but I will miss you all! xxxx

I wish you well in Aviemore, but I've just returned from the Holiday from Hell in Cornwall, started off bad, Torrential rain before getting out of Scotland, delayed on Motorway for 1 1/2 hours by an accident, then further 1 hour by another accident, then delayed by massive thunderstorm which left half of England flooded, then another hour by roadworks, took 9 hours for a 5 hour journey (stopped off overnight in Birmingham). Rained almost constantly while we were there, and torrential rain on way home.
Only consolation is that we didn't visit Boscastle on Thursday (which we had inteded) and would probably have had our car trapped there, as it got badly flooded again.
I've never stayed in Aviemore itself, but it looks like it could be a nice place to stay on holiday.

Thanks for that Mo. It could have been a lot worse - I'm just watching the problems at Glasgow Airport just now, its only a few minutes away from where I live. My son is in London just now, and was close to where the 1st car was discovered just a few hours before. he then went to Hyde park yesterday because he thought the open spacees there would be safer to go to then got evacuated from there as well.
Even when wet, if you can find things to do then a holiday is still good.

If it makes you fell any better I will tell you that it is a horrid, dingy and boring little place! Nah - just joking! lol Thank you it is relaxing apart from when the golf course starts calling the other halfs name! Not to worry he has to take the little one with him, so it is really relaxing! See you soon sweetheart! xxx

Just looking at the picture of your chalet made me feel relaxed. It sounds like a great place for a holiday, it is sure beautiful. I have to ask, what is a snooker room?
I hope you and your family have a nice time of relaxing and just getting back to yourselves. Here's hoping they have wifi... it would be fun to see if we can hear the relaxation in your writing.
Enjoy yourself, hun, we will miss you here.

Snooker is a sport that is kind of like pool but a bigger table with different balls and a scoring system, they have a room with a snooker table in! It is relaxing and cos we go at the same time every year the kids have friends to play with as well - that helps! I never thought of relaxing in a calm atmosphere changing the way I write - lets hope they do have wi fi! I will miss you too sweets, will hunt for wi-fi! lol xxxx

It sounds idyllic. I love where everything is right there for you to enjoy. I'm a stay put sort of person, liking to relax and not go traipsing arounf everywhere all the time. It would suit me fine. See the comment I left on your photo.

Hi mummymo,
Wow, it looks like a very beautiful place. You have a good rest, and a wonderful time with your family. I'm so glad Niamh is feeling better, and able to enjoy the time away. I was in Scotland in the 70's, but didn't visit Aviemore. Such a picturesque country. Must run, as my daughter is about to 'arm wrestle me' for the computer. It's her first day off of school.:)

I was in Edinburgh, and that general area when I was there. I remember we toured 'Scone Palace,' and stayed at a bed and breakfast. We took a bus tour too, and drove past Loch Ness, but it was too foggy to spot the monster.:) I hope Niamh will be well while away, and of course, when you get back too.

Oh oh - that is one of the other reasons I got the laptop - now I can still get online when the kids are on holiday! lol Where did you visit in Scotland? Niall and Niamh are really excited they love going to Aviemore - I am keeping my fingers crossed as usually she gets ill on holiday! Hopefully the other week was her timing being off! lol Thank you sweetheart! xxx
