My City's Patron and protection is the Holy Child Jesus or what we call Sr. Sto. Nino. He is indeed miraculous and we have a lot of stories about him making miracles. He is part of my devotion and what makes me feel secure. I always pray that he protects all children.

To pray to "baby Jesus" is wrong on many levels!! First of all, Jesus was God in the flesh. See John 8:19 and 24. He is also the Word itself. See John 1:1. He was around long before he came as a baby. See John 8:58. Babies are weak, need to be taken care of and lack knowledge. Why should we continue to see Christ in this way? We do need to come to God in Jesus' name. However, Jesus himself shows us how to pray in Matthew 6:5-15. Prayer is not a "wish list". Christ tells us to pray for God's will. The word "prayer" in the original Greek is proseukemi, which means to bow to the will of. We are to bow to the will of God in prayer. Not command or demand things of him. I hope this was helpful. As a child jesus amazed many wisemen with his amazing knowledge. Pasted below the extracts from infantjesus.com for your information. The Devotion to the Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague began in the Czech Republic and has since spread from central Europe throughout the world. While little has been said about Christ's infancy, through His words; visionaries and saints, we have learned much about the importance of the 'state of infancy' and the child-like qualities that one needs to adopt in order to enter into God's kingdom. The very qualities of child-like simplicity, trust, humility and dependancy that characterize children need be contemplated, accepted and eventually adopted in our own lives as we live and struggle in a world of challenges and contradictions. Not so much 'childish' as child-like in nature, through prayer we humbly ask the Holy Infant to wean us of our need to control our family, friends and own personal lives as He teaches us to surrender all things to His will. With trust and faith in His words: "Ask and you shall Receive, Knock and the door shall Open", we actively place our needs in His little hands in the hope that He will continue to show us what it means to be more like Him. In this respect, as our encounter with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords deepens, the lessons taught and shown to us through this particular devotion become even more crucial to our ability to successfully navigate through a chaotic world. The Miraculous Infant Jesus will be presented in this website with prayers, novenas and photos so that all may find fulfillment in their own personal and private devotion. Enjoy!

Dear Ele...... Appended below the history of Infant Jesus shrine. Please go through it at your free time. In the mid sixties, the Sacred Heart Parish of Bangalore extended to areas like Somanahalli, now known as Viveknagar which were faraway for pastoral care. So, Rev. Fr.Paul Kinatukara, the parish priest of the Sacred Heart Church felt the need for a separate parish for areas around Somanahalli and undertook a vigorous unsuccessful search for a suitable land. One day as the Parish Priest was walking, he entered a garden in Somanahalli. It was a well maintained rose garden. He was impressed. "If only I could get this land for the Church" he wondered. "Oh! How nice it could be". But then, he felt that it was impossible, because over a lakh of roses were exported per week from there. However he felt a mysterious power overcoming him and made him resolve on the spot to buy this land at any cost. With this frame of mind, he returned home. As days rolled by, on suggestion, he prayed to the Infant Jesus of Prague [Nine hour Novena] for two months for help in his quest for land. His prayers were immediately answered and the rose garden was brought for a windfall price. 18th April, 1969, the foundation for a new church was laid by Most Rev. Dr.S.Lourduswamy, the then Archbishop of Bangalore. May 1971, Rev.Fr. L.Peter was appointed as the first parish priest of the new church, who took steps to celebrate the holy mass on the newly acquired land, brought the Infant Jesus statue from Sacred Heart church and installed it in an improvised old tent and thus began the "Tent Church" which lasted for over eight years. The newly acquired land, popularly known as the "Rose garden" surrounded by thick vegetation was infested with snakes and poisonous reptiles and with no street lights was plunged in darkness at night. All this did not deter the faithful who flocked to the church. 1972, this new parish was canonically erected by the Most Rev. Dr.P.Arokiaswamy, the then Archbishop of Bangalore. 1974, the local authorities turned down the plan for the new Church for want of the approval of the Bangalore Development Authority, but Fr.Peter patiently toiled on. 26th October 1977, the powerful and miraculous intervention of Infant Jesus finally enabled him to get the approval and the entire development charges of Rs.50,000 was completely waived off, which was the first ever waiver in the history of the Bangalore development authority. Since all the events occurred on Thursday, the day was dedicated to Infant Jesus. 29th June 1979, the Most Rev. Dr.D.S.Lourduswamy, Secretary of the Sacred Congregation for the Evangelisation of the people, came from Rome, blessed and opened the new Infant Jesus Church in the presence of a very large gathering of devotees of different faiths.
