3-Day Weekend!

I had last Friday and the weekend off for my son's wedding and reception. It was a requested time off. My boss called me into her office earlier this week to let me know that my regular day off would be Friday. I feel very fortunate to have this day off. They advised me not to brag to anyone that I have this day off as it will cause some backlash. The decision for me to get this day off was due to the fact that they would have to revamp everyone's schedule and it would be too timely to complete the task. Today I have the day off and the weekend too! I will start working the weekends next week. Too bad that it is a cooler than usual day. If it had been sunny and warm enough I would be sporting my bathing suit and basking in the sun's rays. Tomorrow we are celebrating my nephew's graduation and 18th birthday. Sunday we are going to pick strawberries. The weather promises to be good so maybe I will get to don that swimsuit and bask in the sun at some point. What are your plans for the weekend? Anyone lucky enough to get a 3-day weekend? Huggers to you all.

I'm glad you were able to have a 3 day weekend with all the things going on. To be honest, I wish every weekend was a 3 day weekend for me. It seems like having just Saturday and Sunday off isn't enough. It goes too fast. I didn't really do too much this weekend. I basically stayed around the house. I did go grocery shopping, but basically stayed here doing work around the house. My garden looks very good. I have some tomatoes growing and the peppers are coming along fine. My squash, pumpkin and watermelon vines are running, but no signs of anything. Lloyd

I wish I had a nice sunny place to plant a garden. I am envious of you! Planting a garden and watching its progress is such fun. Harvesting the fruits of your labor is great.

Maybe you can find some organic type of spray to put on the trees to keep the bugs away. I would love fruit bearing trees too!

It sure is nice seeing the progress in my garden. For some reason, I'm really into it this years. I even bought the Miracle Grow thing you put on the hose so you can feed the plants as you water them. I also have a pear tree, apple tree and walnut tree in my yard, but I don't get much from them because the squirrel eat the walnuts and the insects infest the apples and pears. Lloyd

No, right now my work week starts on a Thursday, when I accepted the job, this was not the schedule I was told I would have. I start with a 13 hour day, then go to a regular day on Friday, working until 10:30 PM, Saturday is a 9 hour day, working until 10 PM, then Sunday I start at 8 AM. Sundays are awful, I am wiped out, by the time I get home on Saturday it is 11, I walk the dogs, by the time I settle down to relax it is after midnight. I get to sleep about 1:30 or 2, then have to get up again at 6 AM, so I can shower and care for the dogs before I go to work. It also seems that the place I work for believes that all education and mandatory meetings should be on Tuesday or Wednesday (my days off) so I think out of the last 10 set of days off - I have spent 7 or them in meetings or class.

The classes or meeting do not last a whole day...but might be 2 or 3 hours on both days. I have a question...what is a weekend?

Wow, what a grueling schedule you have. Sucks when you don't have a weekend to look forward to.

I am going out of state with me mom and sister. We are going to Kentucky and Southern Ohio to some flea markets and also to Cumberland Gap state park. Enjoy your weekend and wear your sunscreen. Have fun.

I love going to flea markets. We have a couple places that we visit but they are an hour or more to travel to. With the price of gas it is best to stay closer to home.

First off, congratulations on your son's wedding. I wish him and his wife much happiness over the years. Also, congrats on your nephew's graduation, and he will be thrilled with the cookies and pretzels. Enjoy your weekend, I think that is fantastic. As far as me, my hubby is lucky to have a Sunday off sometimes, that's it. Hugs, M&M

An occasional day off is better than none! Enjoy the day when you get to have one! I finished up the baking and got them wrapped and placed in a nice basket. I know my nephew will be thrilled with the goodies.

Well since my girls were sick Monday through the whole week, it looks like we are going to do the grocery shopping today. Beside that and going to see my father in law in the hospital, that's it for our big plans this weekend. LOL, don't hate me because I live such an exciting life, :D

Nope- I’m sitting here at work- Not fun- I’d rather be basking in the sun also- but I wouldn’t trade a Friday off and have to work the weekend- Weekends are not meant to be worked by me- LOL… This weekend we are going to a softball picnic tonight- Finally the wrap up of softball for the season- Tomorrow we are going to Sea Breeze- Amusement park- Can’t wait- My daughter is so excited- We are going with 5 other families so she will have lots of kids to ride rides with! And Sunday we are doing nothing- Spending time at home- probably have my parents up for a cookout- as I haven’t seen them much this past week- Been running around! Enjoy your 3-day weekend!

Hope you had a blast! Our grandson wants us to take him to an amusement park this summer. Not sure I have the energy for that one. Opa would love it and he has enough energy to chase a 6 year old around!

Thats awesome that you got a three day weekend. Whenever I get one, i take the extra day and do different things around the house like cleaning and reading, some writing and what not. I would also go hiking if I could and take a bunch of pictures.
