43 years after I was born, I found out that my "dad" was not my birth father. My mom didn't share this secret with me, after my "dad" died in 1984. I stumbled across it, after my mom passed away in 2004. All I have is a name John Hammonds or Hammond. My mom, Dolores Rankin, was literally left at the alter. I was born on February 15, 1962 in Baltimore City. I have talked to a PI; but honestly I can't afford them. This has left me angry at my bestfriend, my mom!!! We were so close and I know she was trying to protect me but it's not fair. I have been taking the anger out on my brother, it is not his fault - I know. I am trying to patch things up with him. We have not spoken in over a year. I am probably too late in finding my birth dad, but I would love to be able to find out if I have any half-siblings. My daughters don't have my family left, all their grandparents are gone. I would love to try and get the ball rolling on this.
