IPod for PC user?

I want to buy a hard-disc MP3, I have PC. (I dont use Apple-products at all).
Is there any disadvantage to choose IPod for me, even though it is manufactured by Apple (=Macintosh computers). It seems that IPods are State of the Art when it comes to MP3 (?).

There's no problems in using iPods with PC, that was only the case with the very first generations and now we are on the 6th or something like that. I have two iPods (one 60GB and one Nano) and I've always used PC / Windows... No problems :-)
