I was about 10 years old at the time. I had this little metal box, little bigger than a brick, and I had it filled with a lot, I mean A LOT of money. It wasn't real money, of course, some toy money, but it looked and it FELT real. And I had to protect it! So I got a spade, dug a hole right next to the tree which I used to climb up the wall which I used to climb over and get to... - you get the picture. And I marked the place, I burned it into my brain, it was MY secret.
A week later I went to check whether it was still there, got my spade out again, and started to dig - and never found it. It broke my heart, and would you believe it, to this day (I'm 48 by now) I grief for this little box. Did you ever bury a treasure?

My husband has a metal box that he uses to save some childhood "treasures" he never burried it unless you consaider in the back of one of his dresser drawyers. He likes to take his change everytime he goes shopping and put it in his box and when we need emergency money he tends to have exactily what we need.
