I think it depends on the person and the type of environment they grew up around.I don't think being a first born has anything to do with it when it comes to IQ but that's my opinion

I don't think first born is smarter. I just think they have more one on one quality time. I taught all 3 of my children to read and write the alphabet, basic counting and to write names before they started kindergarten. However, it was a struggle with the 2nd and 3rd simply due to having to find the time with so many ppl to please. When you are the center of your parents world you get so much more attention. My first born is now a rebellious teenager and my second born is an academic star... in the end it is a persons choice as to what they will do with what they know. And no amount of early learning will influence someone so headstrong.

...yes firstborns are smarter.. they sail through school and excel at all they do.. you just can't keep 'em down.. I'm kidding of course! And saying these things because I am, of course, a firstborn! But hey, my brother, three years younger than I am, beats me every time, hands down (whatever that little saying means). For example, my sister in law and I will challenge him at "Trivial Pursuit" and we can almost never win, even though it is two heads against one!

..hmmmm after reading the post about music.. maybe that's the reason! As my brother is a genu-Ine music freak and knows just about all music.. (well rock, country and the blues, and more, anyway)
