I am from Mangalore and both in Karnataka and Kerala, jackfruits are grown in forests and some in the trees grown by people. People hardly pay for this fruit but in cities, it costs between $ 5 to $10 depending on the size and taste of the fruit. It is a lovely fruit, and believed to be consumed before taking a meal. Mango is supposed to be consumed after the meal.

i love jackfruit, we have a couple of that in our home back in the philippines, i love the smell of the fruit when its ripe already coz even your far you can smell it yummoooo
