Hello, yemberzal!:-) Even if none of above reasons are there, I'll still take care of them for, they took care of me when I wasn't able to do it myself, being a child, helpless, powerless and having control over nothing. I’ll take care of my mother for all the trouble she was into because of me, bearing me in her womb, bringing me up in tough circumstances, because of her love, selflessness for me and all that she did for me since my childhood. I’ll take care of my father because he spent all his youth earning hard bread for us. He would sometimes work till late at night just to fulfill our childish desires. He always spared his time to play with us, no matter how fatigued he was. Apart from fulfilling our worldly needs and formal education, my parents would always take time to teach us lessons of faith, humanity and morality. They taught us to respect people irrespective of their economical or social status. They would teach to be good, humble, respectful with people and thankful to GOD. They told us to be generous even being poor. I don't know what else they did for us in addition to sacrificing their youth, enjoyment, comfort and easy life but I do know that I can't pay them back for even 1 day of their sacrifice for me no matter how hard or how long I try. I just pray that I be of any service to them.

Dear Kamran, thank you for your comments .However, there are people, who do not bother to look after their parents and to my dismay, they are literally well read, I see people leaving their parents behind and move to different countries for better future and one day when their parents need them physically, they do not turn and neighbors come to their rescue and even arrange their burial.Though such a people say that they were financially helping their parents and in my opinion, money is not always important. But you have been thoughtful about your parents , is a good example how one should keep in mind about the role of parents in their lives ,also Islam has made mother most respected only second to God and if the religion has given her this credit , we must not neglect this ruling either after all we have to face God on the day of judgment.

I always feel sorry for the people, who, even having a chance do no service to their parents, neglecting all that their parents have done for them. You are very right that money is not the everything, parents need moral and physical support too. It's so sad that people turn away from their parents. I have come to France for studies and after they are finished, I have no plan to stay here even for shortest possible time. With all it's charm, romance and beauty, France hasn't inspired me more than my own country and There is no one like my parents. I just hope that I can be there to serve them.

Being Australian and no religious background. I can not comment on some of those reasons. I believe my parents gave me the best years of their lives, and still feel they need to provide for me or protect me in my 30's. My parents look after themselves but I help my mother with medical expenses and if either of my parents desire, my home would be their home. If ppl took more of an interest in what the older generations have to give in this day and age. We would have much warmer human beings. People think they owe their parents nothing, we owe them the privilege of being born and the respect of age and wisdom. More ppl in western countries should be caring for their parents in later years rather than shoving them in homes!

Daniellel, thank you for your comments, myself being a muslim, i give you a good news, by taking care of your mother you are doing a good deed and islam tells its followers to take care of your parents and beneath the feet of mother, lies paradise. I wish you will never say a word of oh to your parents, Take care.
