Last night I was watching tv and I went to get up and my foot was asleep and I went for a real header. There was nothing to grab onto so I fell. It wasn't sore right away so I thought it was fine. But within a few hours I'm in agony. My foot and my hip are so sore. I've been trying to stay off of it but that is easier said then done. It is so sore. Is there anything you can do for a sprang or do you just have to ride it out?

I would put some ice on it for 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off. Also wrap it in a tensor band. That is the best you can do for it. Otherwise you have to ride it out. If you can, keep it elevated. I think it should be higher than your heart. Hope you're feeling better soon.

You do need to stay off of your foot and elevate it. Also wrap your foot in an ace bandage and ice it (15 minutes on, 15 minutes off) for the first 24 hours to help with swelling. You can take Motrin (or similar) for the pain.
