Does your house smell good?

My front door is at the top of the stairs. Below the stairs is where the trash cans are kept. (I rent a garage apartment so this is not my decision, nor can I change this) During the summer on especially hot days, when I walk INTO my apartment it reeks! It's the weirdest thing because it doesn't smell outside, it smells when you walk into my apartment.
You could say my apartment smells but it doesn't...because once you walk through the doorway it smell good!
How do you make your entryway into your apt/house smell good?

mine gets..like a humidity funk in summer
turning on the dehumidifier helps quite a bit.
but i have those air freshners that you open up and set somewhere-it's got a berry smell,it's really nice.

I don't really know if my house smells good or not. I guess it doesn't smell bad. On occassion we forget to take the trash out though and it reeks something fierce. It used to have a faint bad smell because we used to keep the turtle tank downstairs in the living room, but now she is upstairs. I wish I had one of those houses that always smell wonderful in commercials, like the candle or air freshner ones. I want to open my door and smell freshly baked cookies or something.:)

I'm kind of obsessed with air freshners and candles. So that's why it's annoying that the trashcans outside make my doorway stink. During Thanksgiving/Christmas time I bake this pumpkin apple thing with gingersnaps on top and when my apartment smells like baking gingersnaps it's the best thing ever!

I don't use incense but I use tart burners and candles. I febreeze everything and my apartment isn't messy. It's just the doorway. Like ... right when you walk in the screen door and opening the storm door that's where it smells. As soon as you walk in and close the door it's good again! it's the weirdest thing.

I have this electronic air freshener that squirt out a little bit every so often out in my entry way. What we have more of a problem with is the smell of the people below us cooking coming up through the floor, and they eat cheap microwave popcorn like 3 times a day so that's what my house alway smells like...or would smell like...but I always burn incense and scented candles.

I have one of them in my kitchen by my trash can. That one really does work well. My trash can was my parents and they used it for dog food and I swear no matter how many times I wash it...it still smells!
I have a febreeze air effects by the door but it's the weirdest thing. Once you walk past the door it doesn't smell bad, it's in the door. I wonder if It'd be safe to put one of them in between my two doors!
Bad microwave popcorn is the worst!
