Do you guys know how to play sudoku? whether on game board or on the web?

sudoku - do you know how to play it?

unfortunately, im bad when it comes to numbers!!! just make me write stuff, but not numbers.. my cousin came home one day with a book entitled sudoku. then he went ahead timing how long it takes for him to answer the whole game, then flips to another game...he is so good at it..when im checking how he is doing it, the more it made me confused!!!do you know how to play it? if you do, how do we plan it then,,ive been reading the insturctions and i really cant digest it...lolz!

It does sound a bit complicated but once you manage to do one it becomes addictive. I can only do the easy ones but they are fun. The numbers from 1 to 9 need to go in each line, each column and each square on the grid once only. That is basically all there is to it. The other guidelines are only methods to work out which ones must go where. Good luck.

I tried it a few times both on the internet and on paper and for the life of me I couldn't figure it out. Anything that has to do with numbers is way over my head.

lol yes, I like Sudoko! I play it often, online and on paper. It's sorta hard for me to explain, but each row has to have a number between 1-9 and no duplicates. So sort of like this: 1 | 2| 3| 4|5|6|7|8|9 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9|8|7|6|5|4|3|2|1 so like a big square and in each row up/down/across it has to be 1-9 in any order, but no duplicates.lol does that make sense? I hope this helps a little!

Theres also regions in it too, but yea the idea is to get 1-9 in all rows and sections.

yup I do! its great! I'm sure the rest have already taught you how to do it. once you read a few books on strategies and scanning techniques, you realise that it can be quite challenging and fun and there are so many things you didn't think about! i think it's fun cos it also looks so simple. just a grid with some numbers filled in. so it's the challenge of being able to do it fast that keeps me hooked.

I love sudoku! I read about it from http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/sudoku.htm it has step by step instructions how to solve the puzzle.. I'm sure once u read it u will be hooked! :)

sudoku is easy, you must try to find numbers that are in the other rows, deleting alternatives, that is how i go... ever i play, i complete the board :D

I’m not big into Sudoku- I don’t like games where you right in something and then have to erase it because it doesn’t work out- I want to write my answer and leave it- but that is not how the game works- I love crossword puzzles—but not number puzzles- Something about- you use all numbers once and you can’t have the same # in a row going up or down- Not for me!

i love sudoku.This is my favorite thing to do, so i am fast! You have a number range from 1-9. You can not have these numbers repeat in a 3x3 box(with the bold lines) and they cannot repeat in a row or column. if you have not found it out, inform me.also try this method Definitely have to use a pencil and have patience. I find this game even more addicting than crosswords. 1. Start in square with least empty spaces. 2. When there is possibility of more than one answer, lightly pencil in all the #'s until you can eliminate each one. 3. Make sure you have all the important work done for the day first, before starting one of these puzzles. It is amazing how 9 numbers can be so challenging. Have lots of fun.

I do not play sudoku and I do not intend to. A colleague at my last job used to try to hook me into this evil game so many times but I resisted the urge. I call it evil because it is addictive LOL. It looks like so much fun but I have an addictive personality and just know that I would get so hooked on it that I would be doing sudoku all day and night and not be able to do anything till I had mastered the art of sudoku! So I avoid it like mad :)

I have a hand held game that I play on occassion. Don't give me paper and pencil to work one though, I would be doing way to much erasing. I prefer word games though.

I love Sudoku. I am a whiz with math and anything else to do with numbers or puzzles. Not so much word puzzles, like crosswords. I am good with patterns and that kind of stuff. I am working my way through a huge Sudoku book too. To make it more challenging I have also taken to timing myself.

Sudoku is very easy. The rule is simple. Every row, column, and square have to have each one the numbers from 1 to 9 without repeating themselves. Its not that hard. If you want you can email me and I'll try to make some examples for you.

You don't really have to understand numbers for this game. It is only fitting things in and there is only one way that they will fit. A friend of mind copies out the grid and uses a different colour for each number and finds that helps enormously as they fit in the colours and not the numbers. You do not need to have any mathematical skill, it could be letters of the alphabet, what suduko builds is reasoning and logical skills, and if you really try you will be able to do them, but if you can find ones labelled "easy" first you will find it easier. They have more numbers in place, so there is less working out. I am great on the 9 square grid ones but the Mail on Sunday has a larger one and it is a horror! I have only managed to finish it three times so far. Good luck with it and I hope that you are soon enjoying this relaxing hobby.

Sudoku is such an addictive game, I play on net and daily I take two newspapers and there also I fill up the sudoku.My timing is good with the sudoku of English newspapers as it is easier as compared to net or hindi newspaper there I take more time.

I LOVE Sudoku! My partner is very interested in Sudoku and he does them all the time. I tried to get the hang of it and at first I got terribly confused lol. However, I kept at it, and now I love doing them just as much as my partner does lol. I can't finish them in the time he does, so I stopped timing myself and just enjoy the challenge of finishing them. I can do the easy and the medium ones, but not the hard ones, but thats part of the challenge and the fun lol. Seeing how much better you can get :o)

I know how to play it, but I am horrible at it. I did one in like 5 minutes once only to find out that I did it all wrong. Not cool.

It is really an IQ game...It is being published in daily newspapers in our region...Rellay very interesting game..whenever I find time I play that...I will fight with paper for making me get through the answer...You have check horizontally as well as vertically that particular number is not getting repeated...There are some games with hint easy and medium and tough ones..Try with easy ones first..slowly try improvig..You will get through easily...

yeah! my brother is good at it..in fact im reading on newspaper the other day and on one of the pages theres sudoku, he snatched it from me...and im watching and learning from him while he is playing on it..
