My town is so small we have only one stoplight in the whole town! So, when we get a new business, everyone gets excited! (We got a McDonalds about 3 years ago--everybody got really excited then!)
Anyway, someone opened up a bakery/cafe/coffee shop here. I do hope they make it! I had brunch with friends there this morning. They have special flavored coffees, cheesecake, quiche, homemade breads and lots of other goodies like that. I'm so thrilled we have a special place to go like that!

I live in Miami...so I'd be lucky if I drive a block and not have 6 crammed businesses as my scenery..heh! I often do wish I lived in a small town so everything isn't so crammed and traffic wouldn't be as horrible and people would just be nicer in general, since everyone would know everyone else. But I do feel you, I got sooo excited when they made a Cold Stone Creamery (the BEST icecream I've ever tasted!) about 4 minutes from my house! It's funny how little things like these excite us so much.
Any, enjoy your new bakery! We have a bakery-ish place about 3 minutes from my house called Panera. Mmm! Do I love! =)

I have visited a Panera when I went to the big city! I do love places like that. I'm afraid this little dinky town won't support this nice place. I'm going to do what I can though!

It all sounds great...wow! a McDonalds? And now this new place? It sounds idyllic.
I envy you your stop sign. We don't have sealed roads or kerbing and guttering. There is a cafe, sort of, a Post Office, a cop shop and a pub.

You live in a place smaller than my town! We are getting so "uptown" here! They are in the process of turning our two lane highway into four lanes, so things are starting to pop around here.

My sister knows exactly how you feel. I mean, I grew up in a small town, but had bigger towns surrounding me. She moved to Ellsinore, Missouri and they had a dairy type restaurant that is open only certain times of year. Even bigger towns nearby didn't have much. How exciting is to get a place that isn't common already in your town. Something new to explore and try. It all sounds so good. Hey, if they make a good quiche...I'm there! : )

Awww susie, you'll be amazed to know that I'm living in a place where restaurants and coffee shops are everywhere. Its always festive around the block when night time come.
I'm glad that you are so hyped up with the newly opened shop there in your area. I'm sure you will continue to drop in there from time to time.

They not only had cherry cheesecake they had cherry strudle. Want to come and visit so we can go get some? They also had a praline cheescake which I am going to have to try!
