Why do cats snore?

I've noticed that both my cats snore. And, I was wondering, is this normal? Or, do you think it's a habit they picked up from their human family?

I believe that's normal because my dog snores a lot too. It just sounds funny when they do it but yes animals also snore.

I have two cats, and one snores. She will snore on her back, or tummy. I have no clue. Perhaps they are just like humans in that department. I think it is cute.

Cats can have feline asthma which causes snoring. If they shed excessively this can add to breathing problems. As cute as feline snoring is, it is caused by a problem.

Your cats are funny. My cats don't snore. I had a dog before, and he snored badly. It's just like the thunder:)

People snore, cats snore, dogs snore...... snoring is not a habit that one can pick up. Snoring is produced if the soft back part of the upper gum is a bit to loose and flexible. This makes the snoring sound while asleep. It is normal, some upper gums are this way, some another. Young people or dogs seldom snore. The tissue in the gum is getting looser with age. Must be the same with cats.
