And yet again I'm asking for all the great knowledge I can leech from you wonderful cooks on Mylot. I actually love pasta dishes. Anything with any type of pasta or the such; from meat and pasta to just pasta. I've a limited library though and since you peeps help out with the porkschops recipes (I loved the ones I tried btw) I was hoping anyone had any great recipes dealing with pasta

A relatively simple meal idea is to take a pre packaged pasta salad mix like "Suddenly Salads" and add frozen veggies to the water when you put it on to boil the pasta mix. Then when the pasta is cooked, drained, and cooled mix the dressing up - all you have to do is add mayo - and mix the pasta into it. Depending on the salad you chose you can add pre-cooked chicken, ham, etc. and also add fresh veggies and cheese for an easy cool summer meal. This is great for those really hot days when nobody wants to eat a hot heavy meal. Even my picky kids love these salads!

I have two favorite pasta dishes that are made almost exactly alike. You take a can of cream of mushroom soup, a can of mushrooms, put whatever spices you like (such as chopped onions, parsley, black pepper, salt). Cook this down until it's not runny. Put either chicken or tuna in it and cook a bit more. Cook a bag of egg noodles. I can't remember what size, but I use the whole bag. Combine this and it's done. It takes about 30 min. Instead of cream of mushroom you can substitute any creamy soup.

I have the perfect recipe for you,its easy and a perfect italian dish, enjoy it:) Penne all'arrabbiata 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil 3 large garlic cloves, minced 1 28 oz can Italian tomatoes with their juice, chopped or 1 1/2 lb fresh tomatoes. 1 or 2 dried hot red chilies, broken into pieces, or 1 t hot red pepper flakes to taste * Salt to taste * 1 lb penne or other short thick round pasta * 2 TBSP chopped parsley for garnish * 6 quarts water HEAT the oil in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat and sauté the garlic, stirring constantly, until it is just beginning to turn golden - about 6 minutes. SAUTÉ the garlic, stirring constantly, until it is just beginning to turn golden - about 6 minutes. ADD the tomatoes and chilies, reduce the heat to medium-low, and continue cooking until the tomatoes are soft and the sauce is dense but not pureed - about 20 minutes with canned tomatoes. CONTINUE cooking until the tomatoes are soft and the sauce is dense but not pureed - 15 - 20 minutes. REMOVE from the heat and taste for seasoning, adding more salt if necessary. Cook the pasta. DRAIN thoroughly, turn into a warm serving bowl, and pour the sauce over it, mix well. SERVE immediately. ps:Control the heat of the dish by using more or less hot red pepper. nham nham:)

How about trying some American Chop Suey. It's hearty and filling and not very expensive to make! American Chop Suey 1 (16 ounce) package uncooked elbow macaroni 1 pound lean ground beef 1 onion, chopped 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed tomato soup salt and pepper to taste DIRECTIONS Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a separate large skillet over medium high heat, saute the ground beef and the onion for 5 to 10 minutes, or until meat is browned and crumbly. Drain thoroughly and leave the meat and onion in the skillet. Pour the two cans of tomato soup into the skillet and stir well to combine. When noodles are done, drain thoroughly and return noodles to the pot. Add the hamburger mixture from the skillet to the pot. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.

pasta putanesca is good:) although it may mean "wh*re sauce" in spanish but the ingredients are healthy:) but here's a variation i make: fresh tomatoes, garlic, onions, tuna flakes, salt and pepper, olives (i use the black ones, i use this instead of capers because we dont really have capers in the house) and olive oil. if you have a food procesor you can just put your tomatoes there but make them a little more chunky:), fry the onion and garlic on olive oil first and let them sweat out, then add the tuna and stir fry it a bit, then add the tomatoes and let them simmer a bit then add the olives and the seasonings and adjust them to your taste:) its really an easy recipe:D and healthy too
