Do You Remember What Was On Your Bed As A Child

When you were a child (eons ago for me!) do you remember what kind of duvet cover you had on your bed, did you have Barbie? Take That or Spiderman? Or did you have sheets and a blanket? Did you have a bunk bed, single bed or were you lucky enough to have a double? I had a single bed and I had sheets and a big green blanket, I don't think duvets were invented when I was a child back in 1800 LOL! Seriously what was on your bed if you can remember?

Wow! The little things we tend to forget!! Thank you for the fond memory!! When I was growing up, my bedspread was one that my grandmother had quilted....Red border, with white blocks displaying different quilted sailboats! My brother and I both had one! It's not very often that you see homemade things any more! I grew up with so many homemade things...from sheets, to blankets, clothes, and stuffed animals! My mom has he bedspread now, and a few of the sheet sets that aren't too worn out! My grandmother doesn't quilt or crochet any more, but made sure that all the grandkids had a quilt for their first babies! I look forward to passing them down when my children grow up! Back to the bed....I had a twin bed until I moved into my own room when I was 14 or 15! Then I had a double! My room was lavender...my favorite color! I could ramble on forever! But I will stop! You brought back some of the few fond memories I have from my childhood, and I thank you for that!

Oh yes....I always had stuffed animals, I would sleep with at least 1 every night, and though I'm much older, still do from time to time when I feel lonely! Every holiday I always got at least 1 new stuffed animal! Sometimes I'd wake up in the morning, usually Easter, and find a new friend beside me!! Those were the days!!

duvets were invented when you were young pal but not popular , when my boys were young duvets were just being introduced to the UK . I won a gorgeus one in an osram competition , it was lovely and I was the envy of all my friends , so I bought my sons one each , T hay were nylon coversa on the boys ones and the used to keep slipping off during the night , the spent more time geting up to put it back on than they did sleeping , we still laugh about it yet xx

I remember having sheets and bed covers from Sanderson when I had my pink room when I was ten years old. Then when I was twelve I remember the onslaught of duvets and I got the first ones out. They were a sensation, along with walkmans lol! So I do remember how exciting it all was, new for Skandinavia I remember hahaha, it was also along long time ago in the Princess Diana Era lol..

I'm not really sure but I would guess it might have been Strawberry Shortcake (the first time she was popular LOL) since I had curtains and a toybox with her on them. I also remember an orange blanket with that ribbon like trim around the edges because the trim came loose and I got all tangled up in it once! I had a regular twin size bed in my own room. My sisters were a lot older than me but close in age to each other so they were the ones that had to share a room and have bunk beds!

We didn't have duvets when I was younger - it was sheets and blankets, I had pink sheets and mt overblanket was white and pink with little flowers all over it! lol Imagine being able top remember all that time ago - I had a single bed with lots and lots of teddies and dollies on it - Niamh really does take after me! I also remember when I was about 7 or 8 and i got a little Calor gas heater for my bedroom - my brothers were so jealous! lol xxx

I had a bunk bed and I am always on the top as I was a dare devil back them or shall I say tomboy :) My oldest sister slept on the bottom bunk but you would think she'll want to the top but I got it first lOL anyway as I got older we put the beds down as I started to fall in love with Donny Osmond and had his iron on picture of Donny Osmond on my pillow case then I start to fix my bed like a girl would do so I would decorate my bed with dolls and posters on the wall I remember the bedspread were like patches sort of like a quilts as for the sheets they were white or yellow with flowers. I had wool blankets and quilts on the bed. That's about all that I can remember.

Oh I remember, because I hated it. My mom put holly hobbie on my bed. It was not only the ugliest comforter, but the scratch-iest....ugh I just came across it the other day when I was helping my mom go through some old things.

Mine was a double-decker bed, I was sleeping on top and my sister on the lower deck. It was a normal bedsheet & blanket. I could still remember the pattern prints of my bedsheet and blanket. Beside my sleeping pillow, I have a donald duck pillow to play with. It went missing after a few times of moving. A lot of my childhood stuff went missing though. Sigh.

My brother and I shared bunk beds for a while...and then he got a bed and I got stuck with the bunk beds until I was about 13. We had a whole Snoopy ensemble in our bedroom at one time. We had sheets and curtains to match. One was white with Snoopy and the other blue with the peanuts characters. I also had a care bears sheet set while my brother had the Return of the Jedi sheet set. Our dad used to paint the walls and decorate the ceiling too. One time we had lame stuff like the alphabet and numbers when we were real young and when we got older I remember once my dad had painted the ghostbusters logo on the ceiling and it said "we came...we saw... we kicked butt" except it said the A word and not the butt word :P

I had a twin four post canopy bed. we had strawberry shortcake sheets and spread. I loved it It was so beautiful and princess worthy. My sister and I would throw stuffed animals up on the canopy when we ere bored. I loved that bed I should get one for my daughters. I haven't thought about that in years. I brings good memories. Thank you!

We were poor. I had the basics, a sheet to cover the mattress, a blanket and pillow with a pillow case. Nothing more.

Oh yes - single bed, with a pretty pink floral eiderdown, and a pink throw over it. I was before the days or duvets too! My stuffed furry dog named "Sleepy" and my teddy bear Arkasha, were always sitting on there to protect me!!!

hi wolfie, I just have one (1) doll since then. My mother told me that I'm not playful enough when I'm still a baby. According to my parents and pictures proved also that I just love to eat, sing & dance. I can draw pictures too when I reach the age of 3. Drawing skill is the best gift that I received from God. That's why, I just make paper dolls instead of having the true and expensive barbie dolls during my childhood days. thanks, it's me eunixia

I had a very ugly yellow and white bed set on my bed for most of my childhood. Oh it was so gross, I can still see it in my mind. I had curtains and everything to match. I don't remember there being any cool bed sets when I got my bed when I was three (77). My brother got to have all kinds of different sets on his bed. I guess that is why I have funky bed sets now. Right now I have a Strawberry Shortcake set on my bed. LOL I am going to get a Tinker Bell set next. LOL I am making up for what I didn't have as a child now, 30 years later. :)

No I don't think I had anything special on my bed. Just a pillow and bolster. That's all.
