Photo Contests

I am always looking for ways to get my photos out there. I wondered if anyone out there regularly enters photo contests? I've entered a few, I'm just not sure they do a lot for publicity. It looks good for the portfolio if it wins, obviously. If you do, where do you hear about them?

I am doing photography, but I never entered any photo contests...maybe I should.... This is my favorite site to visit; they have contests listed sometimes... http://www.profotos.com/
