What about The Number 23?

Did Jim Carrey miss the mark with his movie "The Number 23"? Just watched a movie trailer of the movie 23 and it looks super spooky. But, you know how that goes. We've been fooled by supposedly scary movies before. Can someone give me a little feedback on this movie? Was it all that it's cracked up to be?

Carrey becomes obsessed with a novel that he believes was written about him.This movie is well made and Carrey proves that he is a good actor too than a slap stick comedian.
