NORTH AMERICAN UNION? Will you be ready for the AMERO, instead of the American Dollar which we currently use? Will you be ready for the borders being dissolved and we all begin to speak the same languages and all soverignty is dismantled? Will you be the one who dissents and part of the resistance to keep America a free nation? Did you know, Hitler was not elected to the Chancellor office on January 30, 1933 he was given the role of Chancellor by Hindenburg because the current Chancellor was less popular. Hindenburg thought he could control Hilter, he was so wrong. Hitler was not given the power, he took it... I share this because, this could, or is it already happening in our country, under or noses, or, is it in plain sight?

Not sure I know what you're talking about, but it sounds deeply paranoid. I guess it's related to the latest immigration bill? It's a tricky issue, being handled fairly pragmatically, yet this fairly reasonable bill is having a hard time being passed by congress. Why do think that congress would vote on a Union such as you describe? Not even sure it would necessarily be a terrible thing, but I can't see it happening unless a majority of people wish it, and that won't happen any time soon.

There's a lot to not like about the way the current administration have handled things. And public apathy allows them to get away with much of it. But this Union, I'm not sure why you're so worried. Is this just like the European Union? That's hardly a breeding ground for evil. I don't see the US public giving up total sovereignty, or borders coming down. I really don't believe congress can get away with passing these types of laws, bills - the public maybe apathetic on issues you feel strongly about, but give them some credit. This is actually a very nationalistic country, to the point where a little more internationalism would not be progress. But closer alliance, agreements, pooling of economic strength, with our neighbors seems possible and maybe inevitable.

I don't totally disagree with you. But maybe I have a little more faith in the US public. They've been scared, are scared, and are tolerating erosion of liberty because they've been sold on the idea that it's for national security. I do believe there is a limit to how far this can be taken. (More of a concern is erosion of the liberty of other countries, because the US public have much less interest in that.) But when people see injustice they often seem to think it couldn't happen to them, and thus believe the victim must be guilty in some way. I also like the idea of Canada being there as a safe haven, to avoid the draft, escape oppression or whatever.

Yes, I am excited with the North American Union. But I don't expect that we have to speak the same language or we have to dissolve our borders. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong to have the North American Union but it DOESN't MEAN we have to become ONE NATION. Dissolving borders or speaking the same languages mean that we have to become one nation. I don't agree with that idea because all of those three countries have different cultures, backgrounds, languages, histories, etc. Although it is possible to become one nation, it won't be good at all in the end. The North American Union will only create good things if those countries can work together in solving problems in terms of economy, technology advancement, science, etc. As we know, our world has had European Union, ASEAN, APEC, etc. so why should we not form the North American Union? I think getting together is a good thing, isn't it?

NO! It's a HORRIBLE idea. And It would take freedom away from all 3 countires. And it would take away everyone's rights. And it would be a living hell to live in such as place.

You don't give a specific reason why it would be a horrible idea. Why the end of freedom? That's rather an exaggeration, surely? I think the NAU is just a response to the EU and other economic unions, and globalization in general, the concern being the competitiveness of the regional economy. An economic union of the North American countries would be a benefit in each country in competing in the global market. I don't see anything particularly sinister in this. It's just about money, and maintaining economic power.

Excellent thread momoftwingirls. Totalitarian Dictatorship on the horizon? Looks like a great time to join the militia or the Amish.

Ive never been one who much subscribes to conspiricy theories. Now I have only heard a few things on this and haven't really looked in to it to be truthfull so I can't speak alot on it. However, I suspect that like may others, the katrina thing, 9/11, and several other theories that stick in my craw, this will turn out the same once I look in to it. Anyway, I for one would welcome a bit more freedom between here and canada, sorry not mexico, too many problems comming ffom that direction, but this is the U.S.A. and I'll die keeping it that way. as will over 100,000 malitia men from various states. And contrary to popular belief, the party you want to watch for this kind of thing is the far end of the democratic party. they are the ones for more government control over peoples lives, invasions of privacy and regulating every aspect of life. AND they are alos the party in favor of a much more loose border policy, some even openly advocate the disolving of the borders altogether.

This is a interesting case of current events that shows most people are confused about the state of our country Aaron Russo wrote has an interesting CD out for $10.00 called Freedom to Fascism. In this CD he describes that the people of the United States will have a computer chip implanted into them. This would control the population. Who knows what extreme measures will happen in the future. This endless war in Iraq is a good example as the majority of the American people are against this. Even after electing the Democrats..Noting? Well, the powers that run this country are not the congress or the President of the United States.. This is just my theory and you what you said may or may not come true but it don't look good for anyone

Verichip? Heh, by the end of last year there were a few hundred volenteers who got the chips because they thought if there was ever a medical emmergency it'd save their lives. And who says all the stuff here is limited only to America? In the U.K. verichips are beginning to sell like hotcakes..in the U.K. the people were adverse to getting a national id card, but they weren't as adverse to getting chipped..and though they're still trying to push the new card through with a deadline which is ironically close to our american date for Real ID..you hear less about it because people with chips won't NEED a card..they'll have the info in their hand. It certainly doesn't look good for everyone, *sighs*

One more thing that bothers me with our country It seems there is a big drive to discourage people from paying for goods and services with cash. The commericals are on every day how silly and wasteful to use cash as everything runs so smoothly if you just use the "credit card." Also the casino and lottery is doing great business taking people money on a chance of getting something for nothing. Lottery tickets that are selling for $50.00 each are selling 500,000 and 600,000 in just three days..where is all this money coming from? From naive people using their nest egg money and their childrens education money. The poor are the highest number of players...this is a tax for the mathmatically challenged.. but like you say..it is all over the world like this.
