Do you/your children like animals or keep any pets?

When I was a kid, I used to follow my brother and his friend to a nearby bush quite often. There we could find some flows of water and a little pond where we caught our fighting fish. We used to keep them in separate bottles otherwise they might fight until dead in the same bottle. When once two bottles were put closed together, on seeing the sight of the other fish they would both be aroused and instantly displayed their wonderful fins. I liked to watch their heroic actions during this moment. My son likes to play with the playful kitten. I do like watching kitten playing with whatever things in their cute and energetic manners. He does keep a pair of small tortoise. Whenever passing by the local park where visitors used to feed moneys, I could see some parents and their children watching monkeys on the grass. Some children are throwing bananas and peanuts to the animals. We could see how happy the children are when the monkeys are enjoying the foods they given. My nephew keeps a fish in a tank. The first thing he comes home after school is to feed his fish and talks to it. Do you or your kids/siblings like animals? Do they keep any pets? Is there any zoo in your place? What is the favorite animals of your kid/you in the zoo? Have you and your kids watched any animal shows before? Have you ever visited to any pet shops to get pets for your loved ones? Do you keep any pet during your childhood? Hi my dear friends, I would like to share your views and experience. Thanks you.

No doubt for most children dogs are scary animal as they used to bark and even bite strangers. But actually dogs are friendly creatures to man and they are good companion of a lonely person. Many children do like those small and cute animals like hamster, chick, rabbit etc as you do. I think this is the nature of young ones. Yeah, feeding pigeons in the park could be rather interesting especially the moment when they come so close to you.

Glad to know that you are not afraid of dogs anymore. Dogs do express their emotions through barking and showing other signs like hopping and waving tails. If a dog barking with waving tail this shows its friendliness.

I used to keep fish when I was a kid. I bought 2 aquariams and collect some water plants and river sand/stones to decorate it. I bought fish from the pet shop and also capture some from the ponds nearby my house. It's so interesting to watch the fish and prawns living inside the tank. But when time goes by, they slowly perish and I feel down and sad. So, later in my life I will never keep the fish because I know they would slowly die and lost their freedom in the tank.

my pet fish - This was the pet fish that I had released in the river at the foot hill nearby.
Your story told us that you are a person who are caring for small animals like fish and prawns. I do feel sad when I’m seeing pets dying one by one as what you had felt before. I did have experience of keeping a fish ( luo han fish) before. After keeping for sometime I found that it had grown to a considerable size and by then I had no spare time to take care of it, so I release it in the river at the foot hill nearby. I had taken the photos of it before I let go it. I would like to share the photo with you. Hope that you like it.

I feel sad also when I reading the lines about your 'luo han' fish. Hopefully it will live well in the new environment. But unfortunately many places in our country are facing pollution and over-development issue, and thus the place we used to be fishing and roaming around is dwindling. The development is good, but in the other way, we are losing all the natural environment beauty. I wonder one day, our next generation don't even know how a banana tree or a goat look like. Thanks for the best response given!

Hi dear cheongyc, thank you for your kind concern. Whenever I visit the stream I always try to see whether I could still see the lovely “luo han fish” there. But sad that always there was no sign of it. It couldn’t be denied that many places in our country are encountering pollution and over-development issue and I am afraid that we would be gradually losing all the beautiful natural places eventually. I utterly agree with you that what you have mentioned in the last two lines. You know how happy and excited when my niece and nephews saw the chickens and ducks my neighbor reared. They came here for vacation from a big city in an adjacent country. It’s a pity that they didn’t have much chance to see such real domestic animals. Happy posting and bye.

When I was a kid, I also liked animals. I always had pets at home. It could be a cat, fish, rabbit, dog etc. I think like animals will give a child a positive reflection. My son likes some animals, especially little animals. Sometimes he doesn't like the big dog because he is afraid of it. He often asks me whether it has teeth. Perhaps he is worried to be bitten I try to teach him to like animals. I have fish at home at present.

Hi dear youless, I believe every kid loves those small and cute animals which you had mentioned. From the question you son asking I could see how cute and innocent he is. I agree with you, your son might be afraid of big animals as he might think that they are aggressive. He is so intelligent to know that big dog with teeth might harm people. It is nice to have aquarium at home to let your kid to have a chance to watch real fish and their habit of living

I LOOOOOOVE animals! Unfortunately, I'm allergic to any with fur or feathers, so I can't have any of them. :( If I know I'll be visiting a relative/friend who has a pet, I'll take an allergy pill in advance so I don't get stuffy and begin sneezing. I had tropical fish when I was a kid, but they weren't as much fun. You can't cuddle a fish. (Well, you can, but they can't breathe out of the water.)

Hi jtr. It’s rather sorry that you couldn’t enjoy keeping pets as other people do. To be allergic to something is really troublesome in life. Luckily you are not allergic to fish so that you still could enjoy watching them swimming gracefully in the water. You could still cuddle fish if you go for diving. I wonder whether you know diving. Happy mylotting and have lots of fun.

I had several dogs before ago.every dog had been bited me and every time i had to see a doctor,so my family feared holding dogs will do harm to their children. But i love dogs very much.i believe they also have mentality, they can separate who treat them well or not.dog is the best friend to human.

It’s rarely heard that dogs bite their own masters. I though they did not really bite you but accidentally hurt you while playing with you I supposed. Really dogs have mentality and they can distinguish between what is good and bad. Dogs are supposed to be the most loyal friends to their masters. I did hear stories of righteous dogs.

I do like fish a little bit, but you cannot cuddle them. We have pets at home and the kids love them, we have 2 cats and 2 dogs and 4 horses. They are all part of the family.

Oh, great! you keep horses. People here rarely keep horses as we don’t have grassland in our country. We could only find them in horse racing.

It’s nice to keep a single dog at home. You could spare more time to take care of it. I guess he must be a lovely and an understanding companion of you.
