Have you ever seen a movie by yourself?

Or eaten dinner at a restuarant by yourself? Or gone somewhere that it is not usually to go alone by yourself? How does it feel. I'm wondering because I've been told to do this, but it seems like such a lonely thing to do.

Oh I absolutely recommend it from time to time. We all need solitude away from everyone and or everything else at times. You do read a book all alone don't you. Watch a movie at home all alone. It's no different than doing a public activity. It gives you time to clear your head. Dinner out by yourself can actually be more pleasant and tasty at times. Lunch or breakfast as well for that matter. Taking in a movie on rare occasion by yourself can be quite liberating and a nice escape from reality briefly. The key is just finding a balance in what you're comfortable doing alone and when. There's a big difference between being alone and being lonely. ‹(°¿°)›

You can do it ecogal. Start with a light meal like breakfast, lunch or brunch. Go to a place with a relaxing atmosphere. Sort of like you feel while walking among the botanicals. When it comes to a movie the best way to approach that would be to go see your favorite actor/actress. This way you'll be less likely to be disappointed. I'm sure you'll enjoy your "me" time. ‹(°¿°)›

Hey Jumpinjack00!!!!! I must try it. I do read books alone. I can walk the botonicals alone, but the movies and dinner.....that just has always seemed like something to do with something else. I have to try it though to see what its like. :)

I do eat and go out alone. I don't feel lonely because its my choice to do so..I have friends I can ask to go out with me but sometimes I need time off from everyone. I don't watch a movie alone though, its because I know lots of pervs and creeps prey on girls who are alone.

I find alone or not the creeps and pervs are still out there. There once was a guy who grabbed my boob as I sat on my boyfriends lap in a club with a lack of chairs. Bad place..fun dance music though.

Guess it really depends. I've only gone to one movie by myself. I did it because I wanted to see it bad and no one else's scheduals fit with mine at the time. It was 'The Passion of the Christ' and honestly I was glad I was alone because there weren't any distractions and I could concentrate completely on the movie. I've gone to resturants alone several times now and although some people look at you funny I don't let it bother me any more. I eavesdrop on other tables conversations, may take a book and read, or just watch traffic and other people. I really enjoy it the more I do it - quiet time yet not totally alone with others in the resturant, staff, and such.

There is nothing wrong with watching a movie by yourself or going to eat by yourself. I've done this in the past and yes, it can be lonley but at the same time it's fun. You get to spend time with yourself and you have time to think. There is nothing wrong with doing things alone.

All my sisters think I'm crazy for even mentioning this idea. They keep asking me "why would you want to go to the movies by yourself"? I dont quite understand it myself either, but I'd like to try it just to see what it feels like.

some of the things that i'll never do by myself is going to the cinema, eating/drinking in a restaurant, go for a holiday. haha. it's not wrong, but it's just me. i just feel weird doing these things without any company. i like to be surrounded by people and love going out with my dearest friends and family.

I never go to the movies on my own. It is usually with my wife. But then again, I've never been to a movie for a pretty long time. Let's just say it's years. Ever since DVDs were available, I'd watched most of my movies in the comfort of my home. I reckon I'd saved quite a bit of money by not going to the cinemas.

Yeah its kind of like here too. Movies are so expensive. If I ever to get the courage to go alone....I think a part of me will feel guilty for not taking my family with me. We like going to the movies just can't afford to go so much.

You will only be lonely if you do not enjoy your own company. I know people that can not stand to be by themselves, if they have to be they have music blaring or other thing making noise around the. I on the other hand enjoy the solitude i have chosen, and as I live by myself I would be a wreck if I did not. I like to spend time with others, but I have no problem doing anything by myself either, In fact I prefer to travel alone as I get to do what I want and do not have to oblige others.

Once I went to the movies alone, it was fun, I met crazy people there and we really enjoyed ourselves.
