I'm 5'8 and 120 pounds and I've devoted my entire life in trying to be a model.I've taken growth pills and tried diets to be the size i am. People keep telling me I'm model potential but when I send in pictures to agencies they always turn me down. People keep telling me I'm beautiful and I should be a model, but when I try to go for the goal I'm turned down. I'm 21, and pretty soon I would be too old to be a model, I don't know what else to do!

I would just keep trying like you are (it takes some pretty thick skin to be in that kind of business) but I would DEFINITELY have another career plan while trying to become a model. It might not happen and you want to be prepared. If you posted your picture up I could tell you more, but without one that's pretty much it. I modeled for 3 years and then I was offered a chance to work in another industry-one I had always wanted to pursue, so I left the agency I was signed with as soon as my contract was over. I did things like catalog modeling, fashion show runways for local clothing stores that wanted to promote them, promotional modeling, etc. Some jobs payed $25 an hour, some payed $100 per half hour, so it was time well spent. It wasn't my passion though. I knew I didn't want to do it very long. I only did because I had no other ideas for a career at the time I was scouted, so I figured, why not until I figure out what I want to do with my life? Good luck with yours, but again, in case it doesn't work, I'd have a backup plan ;)

Have you taken a professional portfolio. You have to do this first. Get yourself made up the way you would be seen on a magazine cover. Have a professional photographer do some shots and then send them in. Where do you want to model at, I mean what country? Where ever that is, you need to study their look and style so that you do not stand out, but blend in with the rest. My sister was a model, but I do not know the story of how she started out. I would think it would be like getting into any other entertainment field, who you know, is most important. Believe me, no matter what you look like, there are people who look better than you, who are not in the business and people who don't look as good as you, who are. What about the show "Top Model?" If you want to go be time, you have to have big time dreams and be willing to do whatever it takes, no excuses.
