There are some problems in many family to open oneself, for many reasons, which stem from a generation gap to the impossibility to share the same values or to express plainly the point of view each one has.
In your family your parents, your brothers/sisters are behaving also as friends or just as 'passers-by'.
Are you feeling like Cinderella or you just prefer to express your thoughts and your point of view on life with your friends and people of your same age?

this is a very touching one, since im alone and my parents are on the other city, as well as my sisters and brothers, hmmm, i miss them, my mom and dad are getting old and as much as possible i would want to stay with them..misunderstandings are common, but you can really feel that your important to them coz its like the family has a string that connects to you, like suddenly you'll feel your heart beats faster, that day all of us feel the same way even if we're far away, the reason was that day, my sister's crying, she may have a problem with her husband or other..and she's pregnant,so we decided to visit her and it feel alot better. :)

Sad to say, my family members belong to the second category. As much as I would like to be open and share freely my feelings, I am not able to do so to my parents and elder brother. The reason I believe stem from the fact that my parents did not encourage us to do that from young. So now I feel very awkward and prefer sharing my problems and innermost thoughts with close friends instead.

I can say what ever I want to my sisters, I have gotten brave enough to say what needs to be said to my dad's wife. I know some of the things I have said to her have been disrespectful but she can be very rude to me also.
My mom I have had to take on the mother role and told her what to do and where she shall live. I put her in a nursing home because she lived with me and was not taking her meds like prescribed or eating healthy. She was falling all the time and I could not take care of her anymore.
So it depends upon what family members I am talking to as to what I can say to them
