At my dad's house, there are 2 mutts and my mom has a pickignese (spelling?) Me and my boyfriend are hoping to get a dog soon for our apartment. He has his heart set on a Yorkie. Since they don't really shed, I will probably end up agreeing with him. What kind of dog do you have and does it stay indoors or outdoors?

I have a chihuahua, a minipin/rat terrier mix, and a cocker spaniel in the house. I have 5 mixed breed dogs outside, that came to me as strays, so not sure exactly what they are. But they're larger dogs. 1 is part boxer for sure, and 1 has boxer and great pyranese, according to the vet. They're all pretty good dogs.

I have 2 yorkies and a chihuahua. I cant imagine my life without my dogs. Yorkies and Chihuahuas both make great apartment living pets. You are right though, yorkies do not shed. Chihuahuas do.

Our pup stays indoors and he's a black and white Shitzu(sp?) I still don't know how to spell it the right way and we've had him for a couple years!LOL! His name is Pepper b/c of the black and white on him:) We had two german shepards before our little guy, and I must admit that I miss having bigger dogs around. They made me feel safe, but my little guy is the best lap dog ever...and so darn cute!A good friend of mine has a yorkie and she loves her, but she's a bit wirey/nervous/jumpy. Very adorable though!

We have a Chihuaha. I believe that out of fairness for the animal you should get a dog that fits it surroundings. We chose a small dog because we have a small house. Can you imagine being a Great Dane and living in a small two bedroom house with a small child?! Our dog is an indoor dog. Afain because of his surroundings. We rent and there is no fence to safely let him run. If we had a large dog it would be very unhappy because they need extra space to run free. Because our dog is small, he tears through the house with ease. We do take him out only on a leash to do his business.
